I keep hearing this nonsense point about environmentalism being some sort of "religion", as if people are talking about spirit animals and Gaia. We're talking about not destroying the planet here. That's it.

It's only political because environmentalism often goes against the financial interests of corporations, and the politicians that that those corporations fund. That's it. When you have to factor in clean air, water, safety, etc, into your business, it hits corporation's pockets, and they don't like that. That's the only "politics" we have here--money. Money is the corrupter.
We can debate the details of the plasn, but we're not even having any sort of real conversation on this issue in the government at all.

No that is only part of the story really. There is big power behind the environmental movement and they aren't I would say environmentalists. They are the sorts who setup the UN, international trade treaties, etc. They influence what gets promoted over the airwaves. They will seek to capitalize on and control the movement. Typically in a bid to acquire more power, and all the easier to do it under the 'green' banner.

The same Oligarchical forces influence both sides really.

Oh, there's a site on internet defending climate change, that's what we call plenty of proof. In fact, that's also plenty of proof that perpetual motion machines and flat earth are both real and science backed, apparently.

Environmental scientists aren't exactly rolling in the dough, I get it, that doesn't mean they're interested in losing their jobs, do you get it?

If they accept the fact that we don't have the necessary data to come to a clear conclusion over what's causing earth to warm governments will cut off of their fundings, what do you expect them to do? Drive an Uber? Do you think that's a smart trade just for the sake of honesty? Would you do that?

In case you never made into a master's degree, most people who do scientific initiation are looking for a way to incorporate that additional master's degree bonus every month for the rest of their life, most public workers have that policy, so people look for the simplest/easiest way to get a master/doctor's degree, hence why there are soooooo many senseless scientific studies released every day.

Bill Gates Foundation has made a safe nuclear power plant that can be run off the waste materials of traditional nuclear power plants, and works on passive cooling (i.e. if the power drops out, no nuclear waste is released). Power plants were never improved after some of the disasters and were still running on very old technology that required power to cool. Bills team was ready to start building the first one in China with but then Trump messed it up with the trade deal stuff. It's in part 3 of Bill Gates Netflix documentary, very interesting stuff! Recommended to watch! It's also win-win because there are no emissions and it's very green compared to all the things running these days.

Practically everything can be taxed. Every aspect of human activity. Limiting carbon dioxide is also an effective way to limit plant growth. Plants/trees need carbon dioxide to live & thrive. It's absolutely asinine for anyone to say that carbon dioxide is bad for the environment. The money generated from various taxes will go to the Rothschild banking system which already has a tax collection system set up. We are talking trillions per year. With that money they will never be unseated as the ruling slave owners of the world. It's sad to see genuine concern for the environment being twisted to an evil end by deception. The Rothschild family have a history of fooling the gullible masses & in their mind they believe the masses deserve to be enslaved for their stupidity.

I wonder how many of these hundreds of thousands of people demanding "someone do something" about climate change are actually making the sacrifices necessary in their own lives to make a change. It is easy to march and virtue signal, but it is much more difficult to live a lifestyle that reduces one's carbon footprint. The first part of the three R's in environmental responsibility (Reduce, Re-use, Recycle) is REDUCE which is something that is not emphasized enough. These people will march and then go on vacation in jumbo jets, drink their Starbucks, buy far more clothes and shoes than they need, buy vehicles for everyone in the family, eat out and so on. They want someone to do something, but most of those pointing a self-righteous finger are not willing to do anything to make a difference.They want the government to step in and "Do Something!", but they do not want to change their excessive and debauched lifestyles.

"The people of Quebec feel a lot more ownership for Quebec than, I think, the rest of Canada feels for their own local environment," said Ben Clarkson, English spokesperson for La Planète s'invite au parlement, one of the groups organizing the Sept. 27 climate protest.

But that isn't quite how they behave, said Prof. Pierre-Olivier Pineau, chair of energy sector management at the business school HEC Montréal.

While Quebec is the province with the lowest per capita emissions, that's largely due to the fact that the province's electricity is produced without fossil fuels — and not because Quebecers are inherently more environmentally friendly, Pineau said.

"Quebecers behave like any other North American," he said.

"They will eat meat — that has a higher greenhouse gas impact. They travel about more and more by SUV. That also has a big impact. There is no difference in terms of behaviour between Quebecers and other Canadians."

According to Statistics Canada, Quebecers bought approximately 3,387 light trucks (which includes SUVs and minivans) per 100,000 people in 2018. The Canadian average is 3,796.

Daoust, who studies voter behaviour, said it's rare to see a correlation between an issue's importance and voting patterns.

"For example, 62 per cent of Canadians said that they attribute a lot of attention to the environment in 2015," Daoust said. "But that did not reflect at all at the voting booth as an advantage for the Green Party."

...during the 2018 provincial election, the environment ranked as one of the top issues for Quebecers. Voters still went on to elect a majority Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) government, "which is not necessarily the party that is associated with proactive environmental action.

Even for voters passionate about the environment, Daoust said, the issue isn't necessarily top of mind when it comes time to vote.
