Greg Hardy just beat a legit boxing prospect

At one point Rahman was considered a decent prospect.... then he went to prison.

The man is 31 and considered a journeyman at best. It also doesn't help that Floyd Mayweather put him in the "dog pound" where he boxed for something like 30 minutes straight against a European Amateur Champion. Both guys got fucked up pretty badly in that fight.....Rahman's mother even sued Mayweather after the fact (despite cheering on her son during the actual fight).

On short notice. Does this prove boxing is overrated? Artem and Anderson both beat former world champs in boxing. Conor stole rounds off Floyd and almost KO’d him with an uppercut and body shot. Jake Paul is the face of boxing right now and is destroying elite sparring partners.

Wilder who throws looping sloppy punches and lacks technique is also considered a world class boxer. This just shows UFC > Boxing
Hardy has power and had 100 lbs weight advantage. Also Hardy has been training in boxing and Hardy has the size and power to do that to almost anyone, even in mma he was doing that. If it wasn't for the grappling he most likely would have a high chance knocking whoever he fights out. That wasn't Rahman's actual weight class. Either way someone like Hardy is always going to have a puncher's chance. A lot of weight and power behind those shots.

The weight difference is like getting Moreno to fight Wilder. See how that weight and size difference makes a huge difference? Great win regardless but his size factored in a lot with this fight. Hardy wants to test himself vs the actual top HWs so we'll see how he does in his next fights.

Rahman isn't a prospect. He's a guy who gets some easy fights because of who his dad is. He's like a step above being a celebrity boxer.

He gets crazy easy bookings.

The thread is silly. Also, Hardy was almost 100 pounds bigger than his opponent…

GSP is 200lbs on a good day, Khabib easy 180lbs, they might beat bad HW.

Hardy was ~325lbs for this fight.. he's a monster next to those guys, so even with a lower skill level he could ragdoll them in a fight.

UFC HW limit is 265lbs, he did beat Rahman who was 100lbs lighter but at the same time not a GOAT boxer while GSP and Khabib are MMA greats, if he makes the limit they could have a chance, i just watched some highlights and it was horrible, i know weight classes exist for a reason but they are not FLW's

Well, to be fair he just won an UD after 4 rounds.... That's like a demo version of pro boxing.

This is the current state of Boxing 2022-2023

That’s true but I feel Rahman should’ve had enough skill to beat Hardy despite the size difference
He did have the skill and showed it. That weight and power disparity was too much though.

All sports are legit. K1, kickboxing, boxing, mma. The merit is on the individual. Cause your favorite fighter won doesn't mean you can brag. All sports are legit. Stop hating and comparing guys. It's individual sports.

Mayweather almost got KOd twice huh? I must’ve missed those parts.

Yeah the size disparity was just too much. That's why HW boxers like Usyk, Holyfield, Tyson could never compete with someone like Hardy because they weigh 225 lbs while lean as fuck like 6'3" 226 lb Rahman and fat 300 lb guys are invincible to them.

Even Tim Sylvia could roll out of bed now and dominate them all in their primes because he simply weighs too much now. Everyone knows that 300 lb boxers have long dominated HW boxing because smaller fighters simply can't compete with them. I'm trying to think of the last time we had a HW champ less than 300 lbs, has there even been one that overcame such a crazy weight disparity? I wonder if there will ever be another elite HW boxer under 300 lbs again.

Maybe Anthony Joshua should gain a shit ton of bodyfat and get his bodyfat percentage as high as Hardy so he can also weigh 300 lbs and be unstoppable and stop losing to 220 lb boxers.
