For the people who say "who cares", I don't think people are necessarily against it. The fact of the matter is, despite all the progress that has been made, active high level male athletes who are openly gay is almost unheard of. There is still stigma, which prevents them from coming out of the closet. It would be seen as quite monumental if a UFC champion came out as openly gay, as it is widely considered much more socially acceptable to be a female gay athlete, then it is to be a male athlete.

There are people in this thread that completely support the stigma which is sad. Makes it so much harder for fighters to come out when fans are bigots.
