Just saw this fight for the second time, 48-47 Grasso was my score with the 4th round being the hardest to call. Val had that 5th round jabbing her up but made a mistake giving up her back for the second fight in a row thus handing the round to Grasso (def not a 10-8) very close fight but Val didn’t beat the champ decisively which is an unwritten rule

Grasso is in good with the Nevada families <GrassoBless>
No way that precious cutie is losing a decision there <GrassoBless>

Which is a dumb "rule" that was never written and no one should ever follow.

Yeah, it's pretty well accepted that Grasso cleanly took 2 & 5, Val took 1 & 3, and 4 is contested and Michael Bell is an idiot. Is this thread a new thought or something? That was almost a year ago now

I was bored and wanted to revisit it and I’m one of the few who’s excited for a third battle

I think what the unwritten rule means is that if it’s too close to call give it to the champ

With a 10-10 round 4? Else where would you fit a 10-8?

I wouldn't give any 10-8s, I just personally wouldn't feel confident scoring round 4 for either girl, so in that sense, I was okay with a draw.

48-47 Val.

Even the commission went back and re-scored the fight and had it this way. They admitted the 10-8 was a mistake.

It’s honestly one of the most enraging decisions I can recall because I thought Val clearly won, was robbed by the judges and there was no consequences.

When the commission re-scored the fight and admitted they made a mistake, Val should have been awarded the title. They could still have the rematch.

There’s just zero accountability for judging and the outcome.
