I started with Dewalt but was gifted some Milwaukee batteries from my brother, so now about a quarter of my tools are Milwaukee. Both brands are great. For a DIY’er / woodworking hobbyist both are more than enough. AA2C7796-C3BE-45DD-8645-B72487AE878D.jpeg

You can get adapters for cheap that allow you swapping batteries back and forth from DeWalt to Milwaukee and vice versa.

I’ve got all Milwaukee stuff and over $1k in batteries, but had a friend give me a bunch of older DeWalt 18v tools without batteries so I got the adapters to run Milwaukee batts on them.

Makita are the best of that price range of tools.
Festool are the real peak but insane expensive

I didn’t start out a DeWalt guy but after 20 years in the trades, seeing how much abuse they can take, and probably 95% of all other guys using them… I became a Dewalt guy

* 95% of guys in my part of the country… I have no clue what guys use anywhere else

My reason as well. Both are pretty good but like I said earlier when I got like 15 milwaukee 18v batteries n a bunch of chargers... it would be dumb to change brand beibg that many times the battery is almost as much as the tool.

I'm a tradesman as well (IBEW 27 years) to be honest Milwaukee can take a pounding pretty well also. I honestly had less issue with the battery shaking loose with a Milwaukee thsn a Dewalt.

I’ve got the DeWalt cordless drill, impact wrench, pole saw, and weed eater. All run off those 20V batteries. They last a really long time and aside from the impact wrench which i have had rusted automotive bolts i had to free by hand; they work great. You won’t be disappointed.

I have a DeWalt skill saw, a Milwaukee air nailer and weed trimmer, a few Bosch cordless drills and mitre saw, Makita cordless drill, cordless skill saw, gas compressor, a Hitachi electric air compressor and a few air nailers, some Bostich air nailers and a Ryobi weed trimmer

I got a full set of Milwaukee always liked em better. Sawzall, bandsaw, hammer drill, several other drills, a fan, a radio. Dewalt is solid though. When I worked construction it was all Milwaukee power tools and they let us have the tools after every big job was over so I acured quite a collection. With all the batteries I got for Milwaukee it would be dumb to change.

I own only two Milwaukee tools, A Sawzall & Hole Hawg. I've stuck with Makita as that is what I started off with when I got into the trades. Most of the guys I started with has moved on to Milwaukee tools and I've had my fair share off use out of their tools, amazing tools. I don't think I'm ever going to change as I've already invested enough in Makitas in terms of batteries/tools.

Nah, the death wheel will make for much more interesting future threads by ts
In the union we call those grinders, and they’re SUPER fucking dangerous even to professionals. They are the #1 power tool to cause injury on the job. I don’t know a lot about your situation, but I would suggest you consider getting a multi tool instead of a grinder. They can do way more, and they’re way safer in my opinion.

So you have like 7 different battery chargers?
