well if what the threadstarter is saying is true about the son, then i honestly can't blame the guy for getting upset. that would piss me off as well. how on earth could anyone get two weeks of work done in a day? VERY odd for the boss not to acknowledge that. something seems off with the telling of the story, i dunno.

1. If she called you a slur you might have a lawsuit. There is usually a zero tolerance for those sorts of things.

2. You could have handled it with a little less hostility and been more diplomatic about it. Things might have been different if you talked to the kid like an adult. Same with the mom. Sit down and calmly explain what is going on. Anytime you get raised emotions the other person feels backed into a corner. When that person has power they tend to wield it without thinking. She probably regrets firing you since you were actually working hard.

In any case, it sounds like that place was terrible anyway. It's always nice to leave on your own terms but hopefully you find something better.

Anyways TS, go work for one of her competitors and provide them with as much damaging intel on her business as you can.

If someone else heard her homophobic rant and they're willing to vouch for you then I'd say you have a case. Otherwise you're going to have to let that go.
