Economy GOP back to Inflation worries. "Hyperinflation" (Update: 2022 Inflation Highest in 40 Years)

Holy shit PEB, I’ve never seen you make such a TDS/RDS post before
I could give a sh*t about Trump he is just a good boy for the real people in power the real hands behind the scenes are the oil industry. Lets look at history former President Carter talked about investing heavily in alternative energy and famously put solar panels years ahead of many of the rest of the world on the top of the White House then we had Iranian hostage situation and then Olie North selling guns to Iran to fund contra's seriously. I am sure many of these things where put in place years even before Carter took office. Reagan did when he took the second term in office was to take down the solar panels and end the push for electrification. The oil industry at it again differently but again OPEC jacks up the prices threats of war in Ukraine and fuel prices go up and the cost of everything else here is the Movie Good Will Hunting explaining the BS is being done by the real people in power. Why do you think Eisenhower warned of the Military/Industrial complex. Watch this clip yes it's a movie clip but hits what going on today.

Isn't the cause of inflation the fact that money has been printed ad nauseam by central banks over past years without care? In Europe, Germany has been warning about inflation for over a decade yet the bce kept on printing money to satisfy money spending nations.

Hmm... the recent boost in inflation could be tied to

- Locking People down and paying them to stay home. Forcing many businesses to scale back, shut down or close entirely
- Thus shutting down the economy, so inflation comes excess money being printed while having fewer goods available.

Print more money and produce less goods.

That'll bring prices down. Joe Biden knows.

the biggest raises i've got were jumping to new employers. it's sad, but sticking with a company and being "loyal" to them will only ruin you financially. I see it all the time. People with decades with the company making less than the new guy that just started. Go to a competitor, get yourself a raise.

This is exactly what my dad told me as well and my current company has so far always matched and offered a good bit more. My cousin called him once since they are in the same field and she was asking him how she can get her company to pay her more and he told her to leave. Start looking for new jobs and you'll make more money and she did.

No several things are causing it. One of which is companies just using the situation to increase prices because they can.

The title of this thread is still hysterical. "liberal" or "conservative" thinking isn't the challenge as much as a pandemic, the encouragement of global supply chain, and a two parties serving an oligarchy in the United States.

Hysterical to see any Congress person calling out another party when they are in a position to do something.

My 7% raise this year now has me under water. Was supposed to be a good year for me.

Thanks Trump/Biden.

Thomas Massie was attacked by both parties for trying to force a recorded vote on the first 2.2 trillion dollar stimulus. He did what he could to stop it but was outnumbered.

But he tried. And the more that folks try and rally against the status quo, perhaps the more courage others will find.

Because they don't have the capacity to understand economics...

Yep. Everything should be some perverted version of trickle down because it's proven it works great at increasing the divide between a very wealthy few, and everyone else.

The GOP has not offered a single economic package in the last 50 years that made any kind of significant impact on the middle and lower classes and instead, exclusively caters to a tiny demographic of our society. Emphasis on exclusively.

So if you think offering menial tax cuts to some, that expires in 2025, while also offering bigger, permanent tax cuts to the wealthy, is something beneficial to you economically, I got news for you. When government spending increases, and a certain group pays less into that liability, guess who gets left picking up the slack? Everyone else besides those privileged few.

I'm surprised to see you encouraging BLM and Antifa riots against the status quo.

Let's face it, "rallying against the status quo" is only 'courageous' if the people doing the rallying agree with your political compass.

I was referring to a congressperson. Not encouraging others, like you seem to think or your political compass compels you to call out.
