Are you aware or have you heard that if you are in the hospital that you arent allowed to film or call while your inside the hospital? when i went to the hospital a month ago for a family member for a minor issue, they told me i had to go outside to call someone. They wouldn't let me even use my mobile inside.

And not by a small margin. Something like 10x the number of fully vaccinated individuals (both shots), farther along in their healthcare staff, etc.

I think that's a silly claim. But then, if the shoe fits... but seriously, if you have too many "essential workers" running around unvaccinated, yes, it's going to be hard to break the cycle so I think it might be a good idea at this point to prioritize them for vaccination rather than doing so by age (I'm not sure at this time what provinces use what system but I know it varies) because to me, the most important thing right now is to break the chain of spread in enough places to divide groups of cases into isolated islands of infection until they burn out. Once you get to that latter stage, you only need to maintain it a couple of weeks to get it completely under control and keep it that way.

You need to lock down as completely absolutely possible until you self-isolate or vaccinate your way out of uncontrolled community spread. It's that simple. Once you've eliminated that, which could be done nationwide in short order if everyone did their part, you re-open gradually. Outbreaks are still expected to happen but they are more easily contained and contact traced, with far less risk of renewed community spread. But up to now, most of Canada has never done that. Half-assed closures with a bleating and red-faced Ford accompaniment, followed by an encouraging reduction in case numbers, followed by complacency among young people, premature reopening, and new surges in cases.

It sucks, but it's reality.

Ultimatly, nothing we do matters until we get the vaccine. No western govt has used public health measures to get out of the pandemic- its only vaccines.

Oh. Okay. Didn’t know Toronto was so far behind on The 65+ crowd being vaccinated. here in Quebec the majority are, though we still unchanging restrictions.
