Is this reasonable? or a slippery slope?

Oh. Okay. Didn’t know Toronto was so far behind on The 65+ crowd being vaccinated. here in Quebec the majority are, though we still unchanging restrictions.
If you think things will change anytime soon, I have a bridge to sell you.

Snowbirds, fully vaccinated and returning from their seasonal homes in Arizona, still have to quarantine and check into an approved airport jail...I mean hotel, when they land.

They still exit quickly and go shopping and see their friends and cough everywhere. Even the foreign people arent quarantining in my area, they just exit the hotel and go up clifton hill.
Oh, I'm well aware that people aren't complying; people either don't give a shit anymore or they've become extra paranoid.

The Ontario government walked back on their enforcement orders because they pretty much overstepped the constitution and the law lol. Police scoffed at their measures and refused to go along with them...says it all I'm afraid. Heads should be rolling really. If I tried to make up my own rules at my job I'd be fired and sued so quick.

Also suggesting lockdowns until next year? That's 8 months away LOL. Fucking clown shoes sherdoggers. These guys are most likely still working, still getting paid, loving "working" from home, ugly mother fuckers with no friends, no kids, no social lives and are scared of a virus that kills fat, old and those with serious underlying health conditions. Hypochondria is now a virtue, before it was an anxiety disorder. It's absolutely absurd.

Are you seriously suggesting a conspiracy? Did you graduate from high school?
A conspiracy? Well we all know covid is deadly but ask yourself why politicians keep breaking all the rules they put in place? I mean if this was going to kill everyone like they said, why are they meeting without masks, traveling, not quarantining after traveling, and having people from other homes come into theirs for the holidays?

Thing is, these police officers have families of their own - at some point, they're gonna be potentially arresting their own family members or friends who have enough of seeing their business / livelihood stolen from them by never-ending lockdowns. Some of these officers will have wives who own their own restaurants. Wives who work in the arts, in hospitality, in the beauty sector.

There will come a point when lots of cops will start refusing to enforce these rules anymore. Seems like some Canadian forces have already reached this tipping point, which is great to see.

Thats a good point and I had a similar discussion with a friend of mine about this. I'm staying positive and hopeful that the police and the military (if they get involved) continue to do the right thing. Toronto has been the most locked down city in North America, maybe Montreal as well. The response here has been nothing short of an epic failure and Trudeau, Ford along with their "expert" health officials should be walked out of their offices immediately.

The health officials are fine, maybe the govt should listen to them.

Tam and Devilla should have been fired for their handling of the opioid crisis pre covid let alone their bullshit during the last year. Dr. "I just say whatever they write down for " Yaffe included as well.

I believe some of them are assholes that put their own convenience ahead of the medical directives because it hasn't effected them directly yet. What's your theory?

Then they're all fucked.

I used to want to move to Canada. I have now changed my mind.

The idea was a poor one.

If he would just let people stay home when they are sick it would help stop the spread.
People around my area and community we have being staying home for how long now? nearly 15 months. I doubt the polticans are even following their own covid lockdown restrictions.

dont get me wrong before this whole thing started, 14,15 years ago, Canada was a great place to settle down. Probably just not in the cities. I see more people moving out of cities now.
I have a Canadian friend who moved out of the city in the past couple of years and they seem happier for it. I have relatives who live in Alberta and they seem happy.

I would suggest that's a common thing for a lot of folk and not exclusive to Canada.

Younger people move to big cities where there are more opportunities to get a career going and a large number of them end up moving out of the city as they get older. I did the same.
