Media Goeff Neal got a bonus after missing weight

That fight is easy FOTY so far. Deserved. Shavkat already got percent of his purse for missing anyways.

Meh, literally everything in life is like that. Rules are never enforced 100% of the time. Anyone that has a hard time with that because of "fairness" is in for a lot of struggle in their life...

Bo doesn't deserve a bonus I don't want a beat a dead horse but that was a nut shot, he's lucky enough he got away with it and the W. Neal and shavkat deserve it
 
To those wondering if Shavkat got a piece of Geoff's bonus too, probably not.


The UFC probably took care of Shavkat very well for not making any stink at all about him missing weight.

I thought that was FOTN myself, but I don't think it's fair to give him a bonus.
Shavkat should've gotten both bonuses, he came in on weight.

Yeah, it was a great fight. I heard a pretty good take by Jimmy Smith on SiriusXM before the fight. He thought Neal figured a loss was not going to get him cut and a win wasn't going to get him a title shot, so F the weight cut. Why kill yourself for a fight with no career opportunity or penalty. And it turns out not cutting those last 5lbs (the worst 5) may have helped him perform better and earn that $50K.

The part that struck me the most when I watched this press conference was how adamant Dana was when he announced it. That made me suspect that something must have happened behind the scenes that was a good reason for Neal to miss weight — injury, illness, etc. — and Dana was so appreciative of him being willing to fight through whatever that was, that he wanted to hook him up.

Great point. Shavkat was under zero contractual obligation to even accept the fight.

You post a photo of CM inside the UFC when Pride FC used to organize those types of MMA fights all the time.
