oh sorry, looks like i read something differently, but i think Gus needs tune up (Jan fight may not be that easy though), not killer in Glover

As long as Gus doesn't get title shot after beating just one guy who isn't even a contender then there is nothing wrong with that.

To be fair, Jones beat up Glover in the clinch a lot in that fight and I don't think Jones is slower... maybe Jones' hands are slower but he moves faster than Gus. I agree that Gus would have a great chance in this fight but lets not get carried away.

I think Glover is a bad match up for Gus. He will avoid fighting Glover and OSP though. I can see Gus wanting a fight with Bader instead. Gus wants the easy road to title shot.

Yes I am aware of that. I would like Glover to fight Gus that way at least Gus will have earned a shot if he wins.

But.

If Gus fights and beats Jan and then beats Bader? Gus will have not earned anything at all.

Jones seemed to be flat footed and plodding, while Gus (at least in the first 3 rounds) is usually very mobile and has great footwork.

Glover is too slow for him, and Gus' reach will be a huge advantage in what is most likely a stand up fight. Gus boxes him up.
