Glover Teixeira vs Pat Cummins for UFC Fight Night Brazil

Cummins spams takedowns and gets destroyed in the few seconds he is standing...he was also almost gassed in the Feijao fight when he was desperately trying to get it to the ground. Davis is a better wrestler than Cummins and Cummins wont be able to bully Glover.

Glover by submission or knockout.
 
Glover's getting a shitty deal. If he gets Davis'd, then he moves far out of title contention. If he wins, that doesn't bring him any closer to a TS. Glover by KO.
 
I'm assuming if this actually happens it means they're grooming Glover for another title shot.

I can already hear Joe Rogan:

"What DC brings to the table is world class wrestling and legit one punch knock out power. We saw that in the Barnett fight when he dumped Josh on his head and the Bigfoot fight where he knocked Silva out cold. But if you had to come up with the perfect fighter to dethrone someone like that, you're talking about Glover Texiera. This guy is a no joke BJJ blackbelt who has been KOing guys left and right. He was the only man to push Jon Jones to the brink and the closest anyone's come to beating him. Look for an all out war for the LHW belt."
 
Doesn't make much sense, but at least it's a short layover and easy paycheck for Glover.

OSP beat Cummins by way of sprawl n' brawl.

Cummins had trouble wearing out OSP but we've seen the strategy have success against Teixeira when he fought Davis.

Neither of these guys are on the cusp of a title-shot so why not?

In both of their cases the best thing they can do right now is rack up win streaks while the DC/Gustafsson/Rashad/Bader injury-gauntlet unfolds.

Glover beat OSP by submission. Anyway, Cummins has shown he is susceptible to getting KO'd by fighters with less power than Glover. Also, I'd say Glover isn't too far from a TS, having just beaten the #6 guy in the division.

this. It would be an incredibly stupid fight for Glover to take, IMHO.

With DC-Gus booked, the only fight that makes sense for Glover is the winner of Johnson-Manuwa.

Isn't it in Glover's best interest to accumulate as much wins as possible with disregard towards the quality of opponents?

By the time that tournament is over he'll be the guy knocking on the door anyway.

Good point. He may as well smash Malbobabo as well, in the meantime, until there is no one left uninjured.
 
Cummings is no where near the caliber of wrestler Davis is nor does he have his smothering top control. He may get a few TD but Glover will get back up and blast him

Absolutely. This is risky because there is always that chance he gets out wrestled for 15-minutes. Everything to lose with minimal reward.

there are practically zero healthy non-Brazilian LHWs available for Glover to fight on that card.

It will please the Brazilian fanse, at least...
