300 holds up pretty terribly, honestly.
 
Gladiator by far. 300 is pretty good to though.

I didn't like Gladiator at all, and I loved 300 for what it was.

So I voted 300, even though as a film Gladiator was better.
 
I voted Gladiator, but could vote 300 depending on other criteria. Like I said, both good movies for different entertainment values.
 
300 is the only movie I've ever walked out of. I made it like 30 minutes before i jerryseinfeld.gif
 
Not really a contest. I enjoy the hell out of 300, but Gladiator is a whole separate level.

I would say a better comparison for 300 would be 300 vs Clash of the Titans. (I still like the original better)

The soundtrack? Wuakeen Feenix acting like a cunt - a villain you can truly hate? Scene where Max finds his family? A virtual tourism high from seeing old ass Rome rebuilt to look like it did back then? The fights? The battle scenes? Connie Nielsen's face? "AT ALL"?
 
People on here listen to the Gladiator soundtrack. That's how much Gladiator is beloved on Sherdog.

It was a spectacle, certainly. However, I wasn't moved by the story, didn't care about a single character, and thought Commodus was a lame duck villain.

I thought 300 was a lot more successful in what it was trying to do. My expectations were a lot lower, I definitely didn't care about the historical inaccuracies, and I had a fantastic time. Gladiator left me flat. Nothing really happened, and the things that did happen didn't really move me. This is coming from a guy that LOVES revenge films. Problem was, it was Commodus, and I simply didn't care at all about him.

Also, for what it's worth, as completely unbelievable as they were, the combat scenes in 300 were much more exciting.

Fair enough. I liked 300 quite a bit, so we're on the same page there. For whatever it's worth, I thought Butler was more into his role than Crowe was. Probably the best comic-to-movie adaptation as well. Didn't mind the historical inaccuracies either cause the point [of the graphic novel as well] was that it's a camp fire story told in a more heightened, romanticized way. And I remember watching Sin City thinking they should try this CGI background approach in a different genre and lo and behold - Snyder shows up with this ("The Spirit" kind of deflated that party later on, though).
 
300 is the most based and redpilled movie of all time

Every Persian I know got really mad when it came out, which made it even better

You didn't want to see that fucker die? After killing his father, ordering Maximus killed, taunting Maximus about killing his kid and raping his wife, being ready to rape his own sister and kill his own nephew, stabbing Maximus before their fight to guarantee a win... Holy shit that scumbag needed to go down as bad as Hitler or Josh Koscheck.
