Giorgio Petrosyan

what a joke ,,,, when did he last fight ,,,, who are his best opponents ...does he fight always top level competition.. what makes him even ask who ,, if he was everyone would know and respect him for it ,,, best ,, kick-boxer for me is Peter arts

Dunno who that is. I know Peter Aerts though

Really? Giorgio may be fighting lessor comp now, but he has fought some of the best out there. Fought Buakow, Andy Souwer (beat him 2x), beat RVR, beat Davit Kiria, etc. not to mention hes like 85-2 and a 2x k-1 champ

he fought andy sour in 2009 2007 buakow was a draw ,,,, since 2012 i do not believe he has consistently fought the best fighters in the world ,, yes he has impressive win record but please since 2013 he has not fought anyone of major significance... RVR was his last major threat he fought in 2012 ,,,,,

how can he be the best when the in the end he fights second rate guys ,, he fought 3 times last year wins but i am not convinced of level of opponents,,
please take your street fighter quotes for yourself

best in world ,,, has fight the best in the world , he never had a glory belt he is fighting in belator a 3rd or 4th string kick boxing organization ,,,, come on ,,,,

he never had a glory belt

yes if you can read it is a tournament trophy they gave as belt not a world championship belt ,, please get your facts right ,,,lol
There was no world championship belt then you imbecile. The sport of Kickboxing is built around tournament belts. This was one of the last ones to matter.

Only because he's one of the best ever. If he was shit he'd be refuted as being from Muay Thai. Standard.
Not true. Many european kickboxers start out fighting in muay thai rules.

Kickboxing elitism. No wonder no one wants to post on here.

It's well established that it's ok to be elitist and dickish as long as you're on the right team. Snub does this all the time and I've called him out on his hypocrisy before.

*shrugs*

Did you care to completely ignore the snarky comment I was replying to?

then i will go back to my original comment ,, he has never held or defended a major championship belt ,,,,,

kick boxing elitism ,,,, well lets say comparing Mauy Thai to kick boxing is like Super bikes to BMX, and unfortunately most Thai fighters do not adjust well to the faster pace kick boxing ,,, nor can sell tickets for their fight outside of Thailand ,, so elitism ,,,, well matter of personal opinion of what you like and are used to , and Giorgio was trained first in Mauy Thai ,,,before making the switch to kick boxing ,,, where the elites of world greatness compete ....

the last remark i will say to this is this,,,,, if you are the best in the world you better be able to sell ticket all over the world to match your ego or honour. if you can not you are the best in Italy and the few places you actually fight ..

Petro fought for years under mt rules before ever having a kickboxing bout. He even fought in lumpinee but i guess when you believe that the japenese invented what they call kickboxing and k1 rules that makes every fighter not a thai a kickboxer of some sort

then no one in the whole kick fighting world can call themselves a world champion seeing as no one can draw a paying crowd in america or the middle east.

I'm not saying Petrosyan isn't a Muay Thai fighter.

I'm saying there's a clear tendency on this forum (you for example) to falsely claim certain fighters as Muay Thai fighters if they're top level (like Tenshin) and refute other fighters as Muay Thai even though they have a Muay Thai background just because they're not top level or not Thai with many years of stadium fighting.

For example I bet you don't consider Ky Hollenbeck a MT fighter because he's not top level or Thai or with many years of stadium fighting, while you try to claim Tenshin as a Muay Thai fighter.

i have no problem claiming people that are terrible as muaythai fighters. Ky is mt fighter and someone like jordan watson who i despise but they are still mt fighters. Your technique level has nothing to do with which style you represent.

I just think it is hilarious that people like your self try to claim these guys are not muaythai fighters when they even enter the ring wearing a mongkol.

How lame you are, you all considered Petrosyan best p4p FOR YEARS. Now he"s fighting a Romanian, and he isn"t the best anymore. He only lost to Ristie after all. This guy schooled van Roosmalen and Kyshenko.
