I haven't watched the episode or the show but from what I gather the issue centers around how the show frames the eggs as being so important to their mother and how they're of an endangered species that was subjected to genocide but then play off the eating of them as a joke. You can't put that much narrative weight on the eggs and then sacrifice them for a silly joke, its bad writing IMO. But again haven't seen the episode so hard for me to judge.
