To all my honourable colleagues with a Ph.D in Broscience of Sherdog University, who yap about "obese mordbidity", "heart disease", "unneeded body fat", I would kindly point you to up to date research. Which underline two main facts:
1)BMI is, to put it mildly, a shitty indicator of health. And in the normal range (20-25), increased BMI is actually associated with decreased mortality.

2)Body fat itself is not a good indicator of health. Visceral fat and liver fat are directly associated with increased mortality, while subcutaneous fat isn't. Subcutaneous fat has actually been associated with decreased mortality in case of cancer or cirrhosis. Mrs Carano newly acquired subcutaneous and mammary fat shouldn't be of itself a reason for concern.

The pictures shows a visibly healthy 37 years old woman enjoying a successul post athletic career reconversion. I guess the main shade in her life is to be deemed "too fat to bang" by a panel of nutritionists from the Institute of Parents Basement Medical Science.
I don't think anyone talked about BMI until you brought it up. Everyone knows BMI in a vacuum is misleading, because it just takes into account weight versus height while disregarding body composition.
As for your first point, yes, if you're underweight, you'll probably have worse health than if you're not. That shouldn't surprise anyone. That said, there's no way Gina has a BMI of 20-25 (normal range) in those pictures. Regarding your second point, while it's true that fat around the organs is worse than fat underneath the skin, you, and everyone else, have no way of knowing if she has or hasn't accumulated any. And either way, it's unquestionable that excess weight put strain on your joints, heart, and so on, and is far more likely to be unhealthy than healthy.
Is she obese? Probably not. Are most Sherdoggers heavier? Almost certainly. But the fact remains that this is a woman that once was a fit, attractive professional athlete, and is now almost definitely unhealthier than she used to be, likely for no other reason than a lack of self-control. That's why being overweight is considered unattractive to many people, and here is no different.
