I seem to remember her saying she got into fight training to try and lose some weight and get her health back, but the actual cause is likely for the same reasons that so many retired male fighters balloon up so soon afterwards.
First, outside of their fight training, a lot of fighters, especially historically, didn’t have any excercise outlet, so once they stop training to fight, something most of them come to really hate, they stop doing anything in an organized, consistent way in regards to excercise.
Second, cutting weight for fights is BRUTAL, especially if you’re fighting below your natural class for your frame. Think about the actual technology that goes into allowing foghters
To do this now. Monitoring the levels of important tells in the blood, controlled starvation for the final week, rehydrating with IV infusions, etc. A fighters relationship to food is usually terrible.
Third, brain damage reduces your impulse control. It makes you more impulsive, and more prone to addiction.
