Media Gilbert Burns: I've had over 100 sparring sessions (wars) with Kamaru Usman

Masvidal was like a 6 day call up that they paid a bunch to save the ppv. He wasn’t a serious opponent that had gone through a camp or was even in shape for the fight.

Burns has a better chance than Mas did. But Usman is bigger and stronger and will still likely hold Burns against the cage and get a 49-46 decision.

1. He isn’t taking down or outpacing Usman
2. He got KO’d by Hooker at LW
3. Usman has decent power
4. He has a worse chance than Masvidal
1. He's taken down extremely good defensive wrestlers and Usman has never had his TDD tested against a guy of Burns caliber

2. Because he was cutting massive amounts of weight. Hes fully hydrated and healthy at 170

3. Burns has better power and cleaner striking

4. Lol if you actually believe that

5. Usman probably wins by a close decision

Who the f*** wants to pay to see Usman push and hump guys for 25 minutes?

His fight with Covington was no push-and-hump fest. I don't blame Usman if guys can't defend against his takedowns or clinch control.

Some people are never 100% on during sparring and prefer to learn, former training partner get a Big surprise when they fight them in a real mma fight, jon jones for example

Yes. Because he knew Covington could match his wrestling. He didn't outbox Colby. Covington is a volume puncher. Like the Diaz brothers. Usman has heavier hands. But it wasn't pretty or very dominant. He won fair and square. But he didn't domimate him per say. In my opinion. If I am allowed to have one.

This is important for both fighters, but it doesn't tell all that much for fans looking in from the outside, as Burns' emergence has been recent.

lol Usman broke Covington's jaw and stopped him in the 5th.

Yeah? 5th round. Why not knock him about earlier if he is so dominant? Or outwrestle him. Colby didn't quit. Ref stopped it. I don't think Usman got out of that war without some damage either.

It still wasn't dominant. He lost 2 rounds. It was down to the 5th which he most likely would have won, bit still rather close

I think you'e confusing a "onesided" fight with a "dominant" victory. I consider any finish (especially one that includes infliction of a serious injury) a "dominant" win for the victor. Even if the fight up to that point was close on the scorecards.
