Gilbert Burns: "Facing Khamzat Doesn't Make Sense, But I Can't Say No to a Fight."

Who Should Burns Fight Next?

I cant stand these guys who wont fight people in the top 10 because they are top 5. Dude you lost your title fight. It is time to rebuild. On any given month a top 10 guy can be top 5. Why is WW so full of ranking drama nowdays? Jesus. Feels like boxing.

If you are in your physical prime and able, fight. The window closes, you lose your ability to earn decent money, and that is how you end up doing bare knuckle boxing complaining about fighter pay.

"He is top 10, Im top 5, doesnt make sense" gtfo here with this nonsense. The dude has a world of hype behind him. Beating him would be huge. What a dumb opinion.

Unless these are negotiation tactics somehow, Durinho needs a new manager.

UFC is such a joke. Beating Diaz is how you “earn” a title shot these days lmao
makes sense. you need someone like nate to put over a contender whos lacking hype for the casuals. Ufc semi recently did it with weidman when he fought reyes. so it wasnt just another no name in fans eyes fighting jon jones for the belt.

with that said, edwards really got fugged. he did what he was suposed too outside of finishing nate, and still get left in the dust. constantly in the "if you win one more" line with the ghost of tony ferguson

My thoughts exactly for this specific situation.

then book it.
getting tired of reading about all these "ufc superstars" that all think they're champ material yet fight once a year and refuse 3 other offers.
Then you should also be tired of the ufc underpaying fighters and using political maneuvering to screw them over so they can continue to lowball them. They're directly responsible for the situation we have today.

The ufc has been around long enough for fighters to see an entire generation of guys end up broke with cte. Shouldn't be a surprise guys coming up now don't want to end up like that.

i agree 100%. dana cant wait for someone to refuse a fight or a date so he can bash them in the media. it was a while back but i remember him doing that with alistar overeem when he wanted him to fight JDS. typical "he dosnt want that fight" talk from dana trying to get fans to turn on alistar and give him shit. then the fight happens and whelp, my boy junior got bested.

part of me wishes reem was petty and threw that back in danas face but reem dosnt seem like that kind of guy

Pull Leon out of the rock he's hiding under and give him Khamzat.

Hiding ?.

You must be looking for this guy ..

i

I really like Gilbert's attitude the fact he said it would be awesome if khamzat takes him down says alot about him as a fighter.

Yeah they do it with anyone that won't play ball. When its someone boring like Leon the fans support them, but make no mistake they'll do it to anyone. If fan favorites like Ferguson and ATGs that also sell ppvs like gsp can get treated like that, anyone can.

Would love to see that fight. My respect for Khamzat would increase exponentially if he were able to win that one.

Everything he said makes sound logical sense, and im glad he brought up the Magny situation as it shits on the idea of Khaz being able to jump the line when Burns couldn't get a fight with him based on it.

I personally think Khamz is way too big and strong in the clinch for Burns to be able to win, but still give Burns a 10% chance.

But i fully expect the Khamz dickriders to show their ass in here.

To be honest I would like to see Khamzat Chimiev vs Brad Tavares at 185 while things become a little clearer at 170. I think it would be a fun fight and allow him to fight someone somewhat ranked. Though to be real honest I want to see Kelvins return at 170 against Khamzat. Kelvin is tough and has great wrestling and striking.

For some damn reason, I doubt Gilbert Burns' ability to win.
I have in my head, when he got TKOed by Usman and Dan Hooker.
And I feel that Khamzat may do the same.

Burns seems to be a fighter that breaks against more vicious fighters (mentally).
I could be wrong though.

But my bet is Khamzat brutalises him.

That happened almost four years ago. You know this, correct?

Gilbert's chin seems much, much better at 170 where he isn't depleted or having an adrenaline dump like he did against Usman.

I don't even know why I engage your account, lol.
There is a lot of that going on lately
