Giga Kattar scoring

Live you felt a brief tournado busting up Kattar.
He landed heavy and quick strikes. A few leg kick,a Silva front kick and a few punches.
The stats don't really tell the whole story. When they were standing in round 1 you felt like Gigas was dominating and in control (still lost the round tho)
but he wasnt..

in a round with so few strikes, judging it mainly on grappling makes a lot of sense to me

Watch the start of round 1.
The stats don't tell the whole story.
When they were standing in round 1 Giga was in control while Calvin didn't land anything.
The momentum changed when they went to the ground
I will. Am I going to think giga was dominant? I highly doubt it. The stats pretty much show that is basically impossible.

Damage with the new rules, because of the focus on "immediate". Neither was really hurt, so you had Kattar clearly winning the grappling, even dominantly. That would then come first.
Ughh I think u need to rewatch the first minute of the fight. I'm not sure how u can say giga wasn't dominating

1 punch to zero is still 'dominant'. It's only supposed to go down to grappling when judges are unsure. If there are so few strikes then it's actually EASIER to tell who's in control.

Woke up hungover, asked a stupid question, then abandoned his own thread.
Woke up still lonely, replied to a thread made by someone and created his own narrative to ease his own self loathing

I didn't really score any round for Giga, and I was rooting for him before the fight too.

Dude got controlled for over half the round and had his back taken

And this confirms you don't know how fights are scored.

Sensitive and stupid, terrible combination

First round was Gigas until he slipped and Kattar took advantage of that. You can argue but it was 10-9 Kattar IMO.
Second round Chikadze had more volume and better strikes IMO. His only round.
Then Giga gassed, didn't throw that much kicks, his punches didn't look impactful and Kalvin from now on was just picking him apart.

I scored it 4 rounds to 1 for Calvin so 49-46. I really wanted Giga to win but his stock dropped drastically after this fight.

Im tying to understand, the rules for judging a round states that effective striking is the first criteria. if thats equal, then we head to grappling...

didnt giga dominate the striking in round 1? why didnt he win it?

are judges just doing whatever they want? seems so. 50-44? are they smoking crack? are they all going rogue?

(btw i had kattar winning the fight)
Of course you had Kattar winning the fight lol.

I think they score what took place most during the fight. So if it was mostly grappling they look at effective grappling over striking.

Giga was dominated throughout that entire fight. If anything rounds 1-3 were clearly Calvins. Round 4 was the closest, and round 5 was basically a 10-8.
