Media GIF Why Sandhagen is a legitimate threat to Merab

I just hope Sandhagen goes for some flying knees and spinning kicks etc. and doesn't fall into a full takedown defense mode, which would only serve Merab IMO.

Do you think Cory's grappling is good enough to win rounds? In particular, three of them.

It's possible Cory can have a close and competitive fight, but this I think depends on what a person sees as a close and competitive fight. If he loses every round it's not particular close when looking at the outcome.

I can agree he has a better than average strikers chance at landing a big shot. But winning a decision seems like a far-fetched notion.

Yes, because the main thing now is damage. Corey just has to scramble and get enough opportunities to land some decent shots. If Merab is ONLY focused on pushing his grappling pace and is getting the worst of the striking because of it, those rounds **can** go to Corey.

Merab has fought and beat every single guy and style. Yan is a better stand up fighter then Cory. Aldo the list goes on. I mean merab could lose but im expecting him to be a minus 400 favorite for a reason

But he has yet to face anyone who doesn't tire or fade due to pace. Yan did. Umar did. Corey won't. Will Corey be good enough to win? Maybe? But he won't fade or wilt because of pace. He has A+ cardio too.

Bet he will get tired like everyone else. Merab cardio is another tier of whatever these other guys have. Yan. Umar those dudes have good cardio too. I think merab will finish cory

In theory he can, but will he? And win 3 of them?

Bratha, I think you are being a lot more optimistic and hopeful about his chances than being realistic about them. I'm just not seeing it. I can see Cory getting a knockout win, or hell maybe even he snatches a limb somehow, but a decision win just seems on another planet.

Corey might lose but he won't slow. He is a cardio freak pace pusher too. He's never slowed down in a fight and actually always seems to up his pace as the fight goes on.

I've watched Corey's improvements over the years. Yes in theory...he's like a 3.5 to 1 underdog. I think his chances are a lot better than that but it's not like I'm guaranteeing he wins here...

Corey will take zero risks, stand in front of him and get taken down over and over again. I’m going to skip this one

Corey came out and didn’t fuck around in his last fight. Hopefully he comes out the same way against merab. Push forward and don’t back up

traditionally when a wrestler fights guy who who threatens submissions and knees so long as he survives and establishes control he can win rounds and thus the fight.
If top guy did nothing, & bottom guy was threatening &/or landing shots, then bottom guy winz.

This drives me absolutely crazy that teh judging system is still rewarding "control" as a scoring criteria, even though it's been written out of the criteria & obsolete since 2017. (Texas aside) I'm not bashing you for saying it, because WAY TOO MANY judges still give credit for this, but FFS can we please at some point get some judges into these events that have actually read teh fooking criteria? Is that too much to ask?

On the plus side, I do see improvement that took almost a decade to realize. Teh fooking announcerz were still talking about control as a valid scoring criteria up to just a year or 2 ago. FFS... but much less lately & it's been refreshing to witness.

Time to modernize & use teh "new" fooking criteria judgez.

Per Merab vs. Sand... I think this will be much more competitive as Sand has more ground toolz & bigger gas tank than O'Malley. I think Merab maybe does worse the later this goes because his cardio super-power won't be as big of an influence & so he will be pushed, instead of the one pushing. I'm not calling a winner, I'm just pointing this out for being a very competitive fight.

Sand vs Omalley would be fun after this one, win or lose.

I really hope so but struggling to see it, personally.
