Has anyone else encountered a movement speed bug that prevents Jin from jogging forward?

Man it feels good to fuck up a dozen of mongols on lethal without getting hit once. Flicking the blood of the sword is perfect afterwards.

Decided I’m not gonna 100% the map before I finish the main story. Mainly focusing on character Tales and Mythic Tales and any sidequests I stumble upon that seem interesting.

still love the game but I find a lot of the sidequests to be kind of meh although to be fair some random ones have been cool too.

Finished all the character Tales and just need to activate the last Mythic one. Peasants ain’t telling me shit tho so I’ll have to do some random sidequests and hope that makes them say something new.

this is a 10/10 game to me and one of the best games on this gen. It would hands down be my GOTY if FF7R didn’t come out. Together they are my GOTY

Finished the main story. Amazing game. Gameplay wise and atmosphere wise it’s up there amongst my favorites. Story was good although nothing too special. I did find the end of Act 2 until the end of the game to be a lot more interesting than the first Act.

The story was predictable and I think a lot of people can predict fighting Shimura at the end even before the end of Act 2. But that duel against him and ending was still sad. Seeing Enjos mutilated body also got me in the feels a little bit.

I have some minor complaints about the stealth and combat sometimes but overall it’s the best open world combat I’ve played.

Exploring the world is fun mostly because how atmospheric the game is and how fun the combat is.

Idk how to check how many hours, which is annoying lol. If I had to guess I would say around 40 hours. I did NOT 100% everything. I did all major sidequests and a good chunk of sidequestes/exploration stuff but not all of them.

Combat imo is amazing. It's not super innovative or anything but it is fun and engaging. More combat mechanics are added throughout the game to keep it fresh and gives you new things to try/look out for. The weight of the attacks make the combat better than a lot of action games. Comparing to something like Assassin's Creed Odyssey I can say it's way more satisfying fighting people in Ghost.

Stealth is pretty mediocre. It's barebones and the AI is incredibly easy to trick. But, there are a lot of tools you can use to make it more fun for yourself.

Playing on Hard or Lethal is probably the way to go. It's not a super difficult game but keeping it on the higher difficulties keeps you on your toes and it makes you utilize the different mechanics more. It also makes the duels more intense.

Overall I think the game does a great job of keeping you engaged without ever getting to the point of feeling 'cheap' or too braindead easy. The atmosphere and pace of the game is good too. I think if for some reason you can't get into the game's world then it might feel like a generic open-world action game but I think most people will be pulled in enough to have the same opinions I do.

What happens when you die? What are the penalties? Do you load back to an auto save, and can you manually save?

If you die during a mission you just spawn at whatever checkpoint happened last. During open world stuff like camps there’s sometimes checkpoints when you complete parts of the objective. Random mobs you find on the roads if you die to them they despawn or are in a different location

There’s manual saving in the game and it also auto saves

Well, if you’ve been good, you go to a nice and quiet place where you see gammy and gampa.
If you’ve been bad, you go to the live action Sherdog WR.

For those in Act 2.. I can't be the only one who...

cried when Yukiro died

End of Act 2 spoilers

I didn’t feel too bad about her but I did feel pretty bad about Taka and also got hit in the feels when Shimura desperately gave Jin one more chance to be his son. Shimura was kind of an ass about some things but still that scene was painful

Swordplay stands out, I agree it's similar to Arkham, but sword instead of fists gives this its own touch.

Best part of the open-world are the visuals and sound, just walking around, not the activities. They're redundant, the same repeating 4-5 things similar to Ubisoft. Although I do enjoy the platforming parts. And the abundance of unlockable gear as rewards. The few big outposts are well designed.

Also that the game doesn't fuck itself up once you get discovered. While the AI is on the poor side I'd say it's actually better to go non-stealth because of the never boring standoffs and diverse combat with a good amount of challenge. Stances keep it reactive.

For a game that tries to pay homage to Kurosawa the storytelling and editing are very basic. Even in main quests. Lack of imagination. Similar arcs of cutscene - walking - combat. Mostly following footsteps. They didn't put a lot of thought into quests.

100% the game. Loved it. Hopefully they bring some DLC down the line.

Playing on lethal is an absolute blast

Still happily plugging away. I’m in the middle of Act 3 but I went back to the first part of the island to complete it.

It’s hard to really pinpoint what’s so engaging about this game. I never find myself bored even though the quests themselves can become repetitive.

Loving it though, one of the few recent games that I don’t want to stop playing when I start.

Man I wanted to wait until PS5 to play this, sounds amazing. Like I can just sit back get high and go on some samurai adventures.

Liberated the second part of the map. I’m finally doing the “main” side quests. I didn’t realize how much I missed out on in terms of story and items.

Really just taking my time though. Not in a hurry to finish. Chasing foxes, writing haikus, visiting shrines. All a good time.
