Yeah way of the samurai 2 was the best , the first was good but very short . 2 was a good improvement and beefed up the game

I see what you are saying about ghosts with it being larger , but it seems there is no choice , it is linear story wise . Unless I’m mistaken

Agreed. That’s usually the problem with a lot of open world games, but usually they make up for it with side quests that are more open ended. Hopefully that’s something that Ghost of Tsushima brings to the table, and hopefully it has, at least, a good ending and a bad ending.

Looks less of it's own thing and a lot like an AC game or the Arkham games with it's combat. Bit of a bummer. Still looks fantastic, though. Always a sucker for a samurai or shinobi game.

Would be great if it eventually came to pc via the epic store or something since Sony has made a bigtime investment in Epic which could lead to some partnerships.

Hell, I'd kill for even just the Infamous and Uncharted games.

Are the Shadow of Mordor games like AC at all? I had a blast with those even if the combat did get repetitive at times.

Sort of. I think a lot of games owe a debt to the design of AC, including the ones that overshadowed it, like the Batman games, which took the AC formula and refined it.

That said, Shadow Of Mordor is a straight ripoff of AC/Batman. So yeah, it's similar. I'd expect the same kind of formula with this game.

Shadow of War has much more dynamic gameplay than AC.

Cons are less graphical fidelity, side quests are really repetitive though kinda fitting for the lore, unskippable cut scenes for Captain introductions.

can any of you that pre order Deluxe edition check addons installed? I have only 2 and missing mask, saddle.

Saw this got a perfect score from Famitsu. Only the third American made game to get that score from them.

People forget the Assassin's Creed games were based on Prince of Persia.

The general theme, maybe. The actual design was quite original for the time though, and had POP actually trying to play catch up, which it never managed to do. It kind of broke the mold in open world gameplay, where so many were struggling not to be just a direct GTA ripoff. It changed the game in what an open world sandbox could be, without vehicles and guns, and whatever.

I think AC is actually quite underrated for the influences it has had in the industry.

It was the same developer. It was literally supposed to be a sequel to Prince of Persia except open world. They ended up making it a new series.

Yeah, I remember reading something about that. It's neither here nor there though. I'm merely talking about the design of AC. Whether or not it was supposed to be a POP game, doesn't really matter.

The story is different, the design is very similar. Similar setting, same parkour, similar combat, etc.

The micro stuff within the gameplay, is whatever. No, it wasn't the first game to incorporate action and stealth into a game. The overall open world design, is what I'm talking about. The whole way exploration is incorporated into it, along with how the character traverses the world, and utilizes it's surroundings to tackle scenarios, is not to be understated.

There were other games though, like that "Incredible Hulk" game on PS2, that had a rough idea about how an open world could work outside of a GTA framework. The Spider-Man games were good table setters too. AC just brought it all together.

Dude platted already?
