Fuck No.
I saw Golovkin effected by punches multiple times, one body shot in particular hurt him pretty bad. Roy commented on it during the fight too.
As bad as 118-110 Canelo.I think Teddy Atlas's score of 118-110 for GGG is a way more ridiculous outcome than a split decision draw.
Would love to see a scorecard round by round of anyone who does not have it for GGG.
Round 1: 10-9 Canelo
Round 2: 10-9 Canelo
Round 3: 10-9 GGG
Round 4: 10-9 Canelo
round 5: 10-9 Canelo
Round 6: 10-9 GGG
Round 7: 10-9 GGG
Round 8: 10-9 GGG
Round 9: 10-9 Canelo
Round 10: 10-9 Canelo
Round 11: 10-9 GGG
Round 12: 10-9 Canelo
So I scored it 7 rounds to 5, with Canelo winning 115-113.
It was a super close fight and rounds 3, 5, 9, and 10 were super close and comeptitive and could have gone either way.
Golovkin was stalking Canelo eating shots and constantly pushing foward. GGG won many rounds just off the fact that he was the aggressor and Canelo wasn't doing much but using his footwork and defense to back up. GGG was missing alot in the begining of the fight and IMO Canelo landed the more memorable and significant shots and combinations.
Canelo outlanded him in total punches in rounds 2,3,4,5,6,7,11, and 12, and overall landing a higher percentage of punches.
Canelo outlanded GGG in power punches in rounds 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, 10,11, and 12. And overall landed more puncher punches by a large margin.
I thought it was a super close fight, and I can see how some people think GGG won since he had ring control, pushed the pace, and was the aggressor as Canelo took some of the middle rounds off, however it was still super close. There were a handful of rounds that could have gone either way in my opinion, so a draw was an appropriate result. A championship fight of that caliber which is that close, doesn't really deserve to be rewarded a winner since neither did enough to say they are the winner of the fight. However if I had to go with a winner I would have to choose Canelo, even though many of the rounds I rewarded him were super competitive and I could see someone scoring those rounds for GGG as well.,
You are biased. Canelo is a counter puncher and stood against the ropes multiple times taking everything GGG had to give out. Guess what? Your monster punching GGG didn't phase Canelo either.Meh. Canelo was throwing shots that were't phasing GGG who just walked through them. Canelo throws nice crisp punches and recoils his arm with self satisfied style but he wasn't punching effectively. I define punching effectively as hurting the opposition or at least dissuading them from doing what they want. And after the first few rounds, Canelo's punching wasn't dissuading GGG from going where he wanted. This isn't fencing, you can't just touch a guy to score. GGG hits you everywhere and hits you everywhere hard. That is part of his strategy, to physically beat you up all over and break you down. So it's not right to not count shots that don't land cleanly even though they're clearly having an impact as evidenced by Canelo being on his bike all night.
By your account Golovkin didnt do anything either.Meh. Canelo was throwing shots that were't phasing GGG who just walked through them. You should be tested as well...I originally had GGG edging it but after watching it again I'm pretty happy with it being a draw because it was close. You cant call this fight a robbery. There's an argument for both sides. Hopefully there will be a more decisive victory in the rematch. Still don't get how that judge came up with 118 - 110 tho.
lol Canelo's "power punches" smh... his post speech = couldn't even believe his own words coming out of his mouth.. Oscar de la Hoya did everything to make sure his golden boy wouldn't get a lossWhich were literally all jabs.
Canelo out landed him in power punches let alone MUCH cleaner ones.
It qas a close fight that could have gone either way. No robbery.
