Getting someone's stink on you

Last week after class I get out of my gi and got changed, yet didnt shower. Was talking to a few guys and was like this place fucking stinks and left. I get in my car and still smelt the rancid stench, so I stiff my sweatshirt and that was what was stinking.

I never stink when I sweat but your rolling around with other sweaty people so the mixture of stink was on me.

damn that was the one and only time i've felt such a rancid smell. Mustve been a stanky MOFO amoung the gym and spread his smell to me.

Anyone else on here find it funny that none of the members smell when they sweat.

Now, when you can smell your own rancid body, that is nasty. Hit the showers!
 
There is someone in my class who uses his stink as a weapon. That fucker sweats pretty heavily and doesn't wear a rashguard or shirt under his Gi. Needless to say there were several times when I rolled with him that I found my face up in his stinky shirtless chest.
 
Shower and change into your pre-workout clothes. I do it every time.
And if I stink or took a huge crap just prior, I'll even shower before I train. If you don't have a shower at your gym, that's ghetto and it sucks.

If someone stinks - I tell them straight up to get some deoderant and I refuse to roll with them. People think I'm nuts for calling them out, but, no way am I rolling with some smelly unclean dude.

I was rolling with this guy today and he didn't just smell bad, he smelled rancid, but I didn't want to be disrespectful (maybe that's just how he is) and continued to roll with him. He was controlling me from side control and the smell was pretty overwhelming.

Anyway, on my way home on the subway I smelled something bad (note, i was wearing the same tshirt i trained in) and thought it was one of the homeless people on the train and even walked into another car, but the smell stayed with me. I sniffed my shirt and realized it was the same guy's stench and that it had been transferred onto my clothes.

Now I get really sweaty and I'm sure I don't smell good, but I don't ever come close to reeking, and I was actually kind of pissed and kind of embarrassed that people on the subway would think I was this dirty ass dude when it wasn't my smell. Kind of rambling and so forth, but yea, next time I gotta remember to bring a clean T-shirt and not to roll with stinky.

Oh yeah - wash your stuff every time.
One time a guy stunk, and he was like "It's not me - it's my GI - I didn't have time to wash it..." WTF???? Is there a difference? I told the dude he was an idiot. Blue-belt - I'm a white. I don't give a crap. I beatup on most of the blue anyways. If a BB stunk, I'd call him out on it.

Good point....But I've never stanked like that before so hard to beleive that the rancid odor was coming from me....but you're right, either way it is now my rancid odor and I'm the tanky guy and should hit the showers
 
Years ago when I trained, there was this guy who reeked so bad. But not BO reek, almost like feces smelling. This guy made regular BO smell like flowers. He had Brown stains all over his gi, not just his pants but his gi top. It was aweful. I was thinking he might have puked all over it one time and never gotten it out. I got dry heeves one time just from being next to him during technique parts of class. Every class he smelled the same. His teeth were all brown like he had just dipped before class or something and his breath was aweful. I asked him one time what his profession was and he said he was a lawyer. I was shocked, I thought he was a homeless bum that managed to get enough cash to do BJJ. I still to this day don't understand why he reeked so bad. I was always upset that the instructors never pulled him to the side to talk to him. Just one of the reasons why I left that place.

When you are getting that sweaty you are stinky. You might not notice your own odor (just like the guy you were rolling with did not notice his) but others do. I have experienced the same thing you have when rolling a number of times, and as sweaty as I get i can sniff myself and smell nothing. However once I get home my fiance will complain how bad I smell lol

Hilarious ****phors :D to be honest when my own sweat gets in my mouth it just taste like salt. Never onions. Though i look forward to the day it does!

Me too, my head sweats something crazy once I am warmed up. If I am on top it is like a nice warm shower for the bottom position.

So, have you ever deliberately positioned yourself so that sweat dripped into the eyes/mouth of your opponent? Not me! I mean, I'm just asking...
 
We gotta differenciate between BO and rotten. Sometimes, it's unwashed gis that are starting to enter putrefaction.

I'm not yet bold enough to refuse to roll with people with such gis, although I should.
