Getting a tattoo as a whitebelt?

I think my nickname "Cakes" would make an excellent tramp stamp personally

My nickname half the time is fucking Care Bear. I'm too damn nice.

get a standard Tapout tattoo but right before it put "I". That way people will know that you're not ashamed of being a white belt

You're getting mocked because you deserve to be mocked. You're either a troll or a tool. "Dude, I just got into BJJ and a REALLY need some ink to show how people devoted I am! Oh, and I'm going to get a 'Tapout' tattoo!" Are they paying you for a life-long advertisement?

something like that is fucking earned and i don't think a white belt earned the right to a bjj tattoo yet. wait till your a fucking black belt mmkay?

Definitely get the tapout tattoo, but mix in some affliction designs and try to work xyience in there subtly as well.

have some fun, bud. no need to fly off the handle.

I just got my purple belt, can I get a tattoo? Not that I want one but can I please have sherdogs permission?...lol

While you are at it you might want to consider getting a Golden Palace full back piece also.

get it, you don't need any other reason than it would be fucking hilarious if you got injured or just chose to quit and you had to handle all the questions about it.

"do you do bjj or mma or something?"
"no i used to"
"how long?
"it was a tuesday."

lmao!!!!

Guys, I am not getting "permission" from sherdog, if that's what you are thinking. I am simply asking what did everyone think about it. Feedback, comments, etc.

The last time i heard, sherdog is a forum. We are a discussion site about anything mma related. Ok, I get the general idea of getting a tattoo at my level. Ok i get it. Thanks. No more need to make fun of me.

dont take it too hard man, just a forum

Most white belts wind up quitting before they get their blue belt. Another good chunk of folks quit shortly after being awarded their blue belt. It's rather premature to get a BJJ tattoo at this point.

I'll admit to considering the possibility of getting a tattoo for my gym. However, I know I'm still just a white belt with a long road ahead of me. There's no telling what the future may bring. One of my buddies got a BJJ tattoo when he reached purple belt ("that way I'll never be able to quit without looking like a douche" he said), and another that got our gym logo tattoo just before getting his black belt in karate (which at Triad also requires a blue belt in BJJ).

As to the Tapout logo, just don't do it. Most guys that train consider Tapout to be something of a douchebag brand. It's generally associated with the very worst stereotypes about MMA fans, and wannabe fighters (i.e. the ones that "train UFC"). At least that's the case locally, can't comment on anywhere else.

But the internet isn't as linear as real life. Some people are just finding this thread and your first post, so there is still and always will be a need to make fun of you! You're immortal!

I've been in judo for about three and a half years, BJJ for a less than a year.

I always wanted to get "Choke Artist" on my forearms. Cause I have a weird sense of humor.

Look, how about we all agree that NOBODY should get a tattoo?

thank you
