Every other fight had a name that had a base. Woodley, Silva, Diaz, Fury even Askren had mma fans buying the ppvs.
His two fights against nobody “boxers” weren’t on ppv. For good reason, they weren’t gonna sell anything just off Paul.
Go ahead and put Paul vs Bourland on Netflix and watch it get 351,000 views.
And Tyson could’ve fought me and got the same ratings. 90% of ppl that watched that fight don’t know who Jake Paul is. They watched for Tyson. And 98% that tuned in for that fight didn’t watch Jake’s next fight.
lol...are you serious? You're goalshifting so much in stead of just admitting you didn't think about your proposition that much.
Even established draws have non-PPV fights. Obviously no one will pay for Jake Paul to fight nobody cruiserweights, what kind of ignorant argument is that?
Like, it's a joke that you actually think Mike Tyson could fight you and think the ratings would be the same. Ok, so why didn't he?
Why did all these MEGA DRAWS you listed, some of which never even headlined a PPV decided to fight Paul? Why did Mike Tyson, who hadn't fought in years, and the only other guy he fought was also a mega draw in Roy Jones, decided to fight Paul?
It might be...because Jake Paul actually is a draw? You do realize the entire reason why the "MMA fan base" decided to watch was because Jake Paul is actually an intriguing matchup for people who are not fans of boxing.
Like, you're objectively just wrong. You said some jibber jabber about how his PPVs only sold 70k, but when pointed out that literally only one has done that and he has a laundry list of PPVs that have sold half a million, you decided to make some nonsense about well, they're MMA fighters, so that's why they watch.
I'm guessing you do not work in marketing or promoting, because you literally are making no sense. You really think that if a fighter fought a list of different guys, most of which aren't even big draws and they all sell well, the key solution to the factor has to be that obviously that fighter has no commercial value.
You're right. Tank decided to fight Paul for no reason. He obviously doesn't expect to make major money. "Yeah, but the Saudis will pay!" - oh, I wonder why the Saudis think it is worth it to pay a ton of money for these guys to fight even though it won't even be on PPV. Hm...might be because they think people will watch it? I guess you know better though, you after all pointed out that he fought fucking Ben Askren and drew 500k but SOMEHOW that isn't indicitive of drawing power, but his fight with Mike Perry, the only PPV that ever sold poorly, which wasn't even promoted for a long time drew poorly.
I love how illogical this is, I seriously am having a hard time wrapping around my head in that you have such a poor understanding of what drawing is (do you think it means that whenever a fighter just fights a nobody and doesnt sell a shit load, the A side must not be a draw? Are you actually that naive?) or you just hate Jake Paul so much, that you somehow are oblivious that he actually does have crossover appeal - which is obvious to anyone in the actual boxing industry.
