Who is the greatest MMA fighter of all-time?

Jones and it’s not even close.

GSP tapped to strikes to a not even top 7 in the division.

Fedor has just straight up lost multiple times to LHW’s and not even top HW’s.

The Jones hate is crazy. Jones is so good, some of these fanboys and crybabies on here have to claim cheating despite never losing a professional fight against the best competition in the world.

Because GsP and Fedor are “quote on quote” “clean”..knowing damn well that Fedor fought in Pride were juicing was legal and GSP just never got caught. That does NOT make them the best fighters in the world.

I'm not a GSP hater or anything, the guy was a great fighter and knew how to consistently win. He's rightfully one of the top 5 MMA fighters of all time!

But he has to be one of the most overrated GOAT candidates. The longtime fans know GSP was only ever the PFP #1 in 2013 when Silva finally lost at 38 years old. He was never impressive enough to actually be a legit #1 even during his peak. Hell Jones by 24-25 had already surpassed him on the list.

Fedor was that dude till 2010

Anderson then took the mantle completely and was that dude till 2013

Jon then officially took the mantle after GSP's brief ascent and retirement and is still arguably the #1 PFP in 2024

There were times in MMA when prime GSP wasn't even top 3 on the PFP list, this stuff has to be taken into account.

GSP was never that dude, it's revisionist history. In 2013 when Anderson beat Bonnar, Joe was literally calling him the GOAT! GSP was never getting this praise or recognition, because despite being great he wasn't on that level skill for skill, he just wasn't as impressive.

This doesn't mean I don't appreciate GSP, I remember watching almost all of his classic PPV's. But most of the members here aren't being truthful, or they didn't watch his career. How many of you were around to see GSP struggling to submit Hardy? He couldn't properly execute an armbar or a kimura from north south.

GSP isn't being called the GOAT because he had the most skill or was the most dominant fighter, he's being called the GOAT because he's a great fighter who also happens to be a great ambassador for the sport. He was never popped, and I see why people gravitate toward that. But Silva, Jones, and Fedor were better fighters flat out and were recognized as such by the people who all watched them. The truth is most people saying GSP is the GOAT weren't saying this in his prime( 2010,2011,2012). They are saying it now because GSP is figurately the last guy standing who retired young, so he didn't lose, and didn't get popped.

I'll be labeled a hater, but I watched everyone's opinion change in real time. They went from disrespecting this guy because he couldn't finish a fight, to now calling him the GOAT essentially by default. We don't appreciate fighters who stick around to compete. The truth is watching a fighter lose even if they are 10+ years past their peak, still leaves a lasting impression on the minds of fans.

GSP can be the greatest ambassador of all time
GSP can be the greatest and most polite of all time
GSP can be the greatest inspiration of all time
But GSP cannot be the greatest fighter of all time, he's the only top 5 MMA fighter to not show longevity, and simultaneously the only one besides maybe Aldo or Anderson to lose in their prime (Though fighting in a ring versus a cage are two very different things).

This might be unpopular, but imo GSP is closer to DJ & Jose Aldo than he is to Fedor, Jones, or Andy.
Cold gard truth

Or you're an imbecile who celebrates low iq, shitty degenerate rap culture. An internet chump who didn't even watch MMA up until recently and never trained a day in his bum life.

You’re a coward who can’t keep it mma and tries to use subtle frail undertones of virtue signaling on a karate forum to hide your true nature. Keep it MMA poo see

lol kick rocks you rat. You'd get strangled by the competition white belts at my BJJ academy. Internet chump weenie.

Who the hell cares, why do we constantly have these GOAT discussions all the damn time. Why isn't it just enough to appreciate every fighter for what the accomplished without having these subjective, non-provable discussions of who was better?

Same thing with basketball, I'm so sick of hearing "who's the GOAT, Jordan or Lebron?" I'm like, WHO CARES? Can't we just appreciate them both for their own individual careers and what they have accomplished without getting into that stupid, subjective, non-provable discussion about who may or may not have been better?

GSP was good.
Fedor was good.
Jones is good.

Why can't we just leave it at that?

When I say you’re a goddamn coward I mean you are terrified to death of someone thinking you don’t practice mma so you can continue beating your little bird chest like the cockatiel you are. I’m kinda not afraid to look at you as the joke you are coming off. Go get sweaty champ. If you think I never trained you think to much about the other lives of men you’re probably gay

Jon Jones is the best cage fighter that ever existed, irrespective of out of cage issues
