It's hilarious, I appreciate the lolz and fact Dubya never changed but Iraq wasn't the decision of one man (Cheney?). It had the full fledged authorization and enthusiastic backing of US Congress including prominent Dems such as Biden and Hilldog. The only resistance of note to the invasion at the time was led by Nancy Pelosi, who represented a clear minority in her own chamber while the Senate was also 77-23 in favor.

I’m talking in general. Bush2 was bad. But, yes, a whole swath of people helped push forward the egregious war in Iraq, and the people at home supported it (for a short while); yet there is ultimate culpability in our country when it comes the such matters — the president takes the L. Moreover, Bush was integral to the planning of the war, no matter what common thought is on the mater, I.e., Cheney did it. George didn’t have to listen to Rumsfeld et al.
 
The office of President is a figurehead position, they're nothing more than puppets, but it's still hilarious that a dude with a sub 90 IQ won it not once, but twice.
 
Actually opinion that Russia encouraged Iraq to invade Kuwait is valid and does have a lot of financial reasons.

Russia needed to boost up gold, precios metals and crude oil prices because then they were in very bad financial situation and export all this stuff.
War in oil producing region boosted up crude oil market prices: essential thing for Kremlin.

The same reasons why it is widely assumed that war Iraq- Iran had been provoced by Kremlin encouraging Sadam to start this!

There are a lot of financial reasons: Sadam had a lot of money, paid very well for USSR weapons. It was really huge income for USSR.
Next stuff: Russia is crude oil exporter. High prices and problems with supplies from Gulf countries are things very comfortable for them.
Third stuff: when world doesn't have stability, precious metals price is rising.
Vuala: Russia is platinum, palladium, gold and silver exporter country.

If we don't forget that Kremlin had built nuclear research reactor for very good price in Iraq and later for excellent price upgraded this in order to rise reactor's power...

Only later, when Sadam asked for more powerful reactor No2 communists refused: most likely they get from Iraq specialists interests when they were trained in USSR why they need next, more powerful reactor. It is difficult to outsmart and make to be fools experienced scientists when you are learning under them....
Communists refused and there was almost 50/50 chances to get this better, more powerful reactor.
Problem is that not all communists are witg equal mindset.
This was reason also why they refused to sell Temp missiles to Iraq...

Actually some % of communists were scared also about damn huge expenses cos Afganistan and filling East Germany with weapons...

Expenses to do arm race were so huge, Afganistan stuff required xxxxxxx each day and night.

The biggest problem was that in 1979 th they very easily and smoothly had took Cabul and after this announced in local media about " International help " success.
For internal propaganda reasons.
When Gorbachev took office, he get windmills with very huge, rising expenses and low crude oil prices...+ shadow economy growing like mushrooms after rain in warm summer...& quickly rising cultural norms like bribes, kleptocracy, nepotism and .....capitalism underground rising in power each day.
USSR failed cos internal reasons and mainy falling had been done buy .....communists and internal stuff: like to bring ppl till soap and sugar, vodka, cigarettes stamps.....
Not by US at all.
Empire had failed.
 
Economical reasons too looks really reasonable why Russia might had benefited from fall of USSR.

If russians are sitting only in russia, expenses will be XX lesser. This is fact.
Then they might get rid off overprinted USSR rouble, insane inflation.
Russia does have huge natural resources: wood and damn a lot ( it is very important ) , arable land ( in a lot of areas Ukrainian land is shit if compare with this beauty in Russia ), precious metals, nickel, coal, natural gas, crude oil, oil shale, diamonds, emeralds etc ...

They had evetything to build REAL EMPIRE: country where Russia by sitting only in Russia (!!!!!) might had choosed: who let in as tourist or businessman.
Empire with long rows of ppl dreaming to get visas and permits .
