genuine good guys in mma.

I've met Wanderlei Silva, GSP, Cain, Melendez, Miguel Torres, Frankie Edgar, B.J. Penn, and Shogun. I actually spoke to them for a period of time, not just taken a picture and what not. All of them were superb people and a pleasure to spend some time with.

Niko Vitale and Ron Jun are also incredibly approachable, genuinely nice people. Niko is the sort of guy who would give you the shirt off his back if it meant he'd freeze to death (unlikely in Hawaii, but you get the idea). Ron looks like a total banger but is probably the friendliest guy in any gym he walks into and is humble almost to a fault.

I've met a few UFC fighters but Chael and Conor Mcgregor really stood out to me for being really really nice. I went to Mcgregors open workout in Boston and he would take pics with anybdy and sign anything. When I was talking to him he seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say, cool guy.

As for Chael, I went to the Shogun vs Sonnen pre fight press conference and whem it was done all the fighters just got up and left but Chael was the only guy to come back out and sign autographs and what not, when I went up to him he shook my hand and said "Hi Im Chael" which I thought was funny cause it's obvious we all knew who he was haha

Machida, GSP, Brian Stann and Lee Murray.

didnt JBJ stop a mugger before a fight? seems pretty nice guy to me

I've known John Dodson for about 6 years now. He is an awesome guy and great coach. He cornered me in all my amateur mma fights.

Erik Perez is also a good guy. Even when i first started training he was always down to spar and help me out even though he didn't speak english.

Keith Jardine has always been cool to me. He gave me a whole bunch of tapout shirts when he was doing a photo shoot at the gym.

Leonard Garcia and Donald Cerrone are both awesome to hang out with. Leonard was the first pro I ever trained with. He saw me looking lost first day at the gym before class started and worked with me that day.

on the other side:
At a few smokers I went to at fit nhb Crazy Horse was there and he definitely put off a bad vibe. Stayed away from his table during those events.

This guy!

Cant for the next fight!!!!! Shogun is back!!! (for the ??…3rd time)

Ran into him in Orlando's International airport. It was awesome, seemed like we were buddies for a long time. Great guy

Jonathon Brookins

Most people can be a good person when they meet fans or whatever but this guy is the most genuinely good person i've seen compete in MMA

The ones that people claim to be "dicks" seems to the ones who are the nicest.

That's because coming off politically correct and sincere in public interviews is a skill that's entirely different from not being a scumbag and being cool to interact with on a personal basis. Just look at politicians, for instance.

On Sherdog especially, there's way too many jimmies getting rustled over comments fighters make in interviews or on twitter, when that generally doesn't show us what kind of a person they actually are.

Well said.

Met Matt Serra at one of his gyms a couple months back. As soon as he saw me walk in he got off the mat and came over to me and introduced himself. We talked for a bit and he seemed like the coolest guy. Eventually he said he had to go take a shower(he was drenched) and that he would come back a bit later. I really wasn't expecting him to come back but about fifteen minutes later he came back and just shot the shit with me for a while. Super cool dude that I could totally see being a blast to hang around.

i know he's not a UFC fighter but i met Javier Mendez when i was thinking about switching gyms to AKA. even though i knew who he was I didn't bring it up or treat him like a celebrity. i wonder if this was why he acted normal around me. he was really nice and helpful. he asked about my previous training, my name, told me about AKA, etc. When I showed up for the free class later that day he even remembered my name.
