General MMA Discussion & Future Lines- 2020

So if Landwehr is the train does that make Dinklage the caboose? As far as Hannity goes he looks like more of a baseball than a boxing guy. I'd still watch him vs Stephen Smith. One guy learned striking from his cat and the other played too much Punch Out.

Florida man Mike Perry might be good fade material in his next fight. Apparently his new girlfriend will be his whole corner team. Doesn't seem like he is working with any kind of team either.

According to him he doesn't need coaches because they don't fight or know what they are talking about.

Thoughts on Colby leaving ATT?

I mean, who would even accept him with open arms at this point? The dude seems like locker room cancer and if any of my assumptions are true, the dude is going to have trouble even finding trustworthy sparring partners.

I think Colby will be one of those guys who will never win a belt. His cardio is great, but his pacing is not. Has more pillow hands then Bisping (idk why Bisping was known to have pillow hands, he can box), the dude is like the Dominick Cruz of the WW division in terms of power. The dude couldn’t knock out Cerrone in a kickboxing match imo.

I personally think Cerrone might give Colby some trouble lol.

There's not even any way to know if Colby has power because he NEVER throws anything with the intention of hurting someone. So I guess that kinda means it doesn't matter if he has power because he won't use it even if he does.

He's a top 5 guy for sure simply based on the fact he can outwork almost anyone and has a nonstop motor. HIs top control sucks but it doesn't matter, he can take guys down and just mat return nonstop without tiring, something almost nobody else can do. But yeah there are flaws and it's that he doesn't hurt anyone when he hits them. That really was the difference in his fight with Usman. They both landed, Kamaru just did damage with his strikes and Colby didn't.

Finding guys to train with him at his own gym won't be an issue, but finding really good fighters to do it might be. I don't know his finances, but if he's got the cash to pay guys to do it than it won't be an issue. Plenty won't because of his personality, but he only needs a few for each camp. He's basically doing what Tony Ferguson does. Own gym, bring in a few guys and you put them up and pay them to train with you. It's a model that CAN work...but we'll see if it does for Colby.

I don't know any of these guys, but I am Wiki-capping some of them and making small bets.

• $5 on Kendly St. Louis +305 (his opponent hasn't fought in 1.5 years)
Parlay: $15 to win $10 on Sal Guerriero and Danny Sabatello (looks like Sabatello's opponent is a replacement fighter)

Man, I started to like Izzy especially after that Whittaker fight but now he has gone off the rails.

the homie says he’s trying to be like the Dave chapelle of MMA. Bro, you beat a 45 year old guy who fights like the first boss of a video game and a guy who was burnt out for the belt... I feel like his ego has gone tenfold after getting the belt and getting a title defense. I don’t think Izzy has what it takes to be a long reigning champ like a woodley or a GSP. I think Paulo Costa will beat him by being a better all rounded fighter. Izzy still is one dimensional where he highly prefers to keep things on the feet and is a bit scared to go on the ground. He is yet to face anyone with an elite top game like a Luke Rockhold or even Chris weidman. I honestly think Rockhold would melt Adesanya if he fought a smart fight.

I think Paulo Costa will humble Izzy, then Izzy will go against a guy with good top game, lose again and then become irrelevant.

guys like Cejudo who have faced tougher competition remain humble while Izzy thinks he’s some huge superstar. I doubt Izzy would be able to sell 500k PPV’s against a guy like Costa by himself.

Titan FC 60

R1: Sabatello (Clear round. Ramos taking this fight on short notice is a factor as I expected.)
R2: Sabatello (Clear)
R3: Sabatello (Clear)

----------

R1: Guerriero (Clear)
R2: Gonzalez (Clear)
R3: Guerriero (Clear)

Gonzalez won??????????????? No way he won Round 3, which was the "closest" round. He backpedaled the entire round, was taken down 2-3 times, didn't land anything in terms of strikes and didn't land any take downs.

What a bullshit decision.

----------

Kendly St. Louis was knocked out by Michael Lilly.

-$20

Pannie is the dog against Beth? Wow!

she beat JRC who is bottom of the barrel opposition. JRC could have made it close but she was fighting like t-wood, extremely low output for WMMA that it made me want to jump off a building picking JRC lol.

I do think pannie should be favored, like what does bethe have left in the tank??!

Marty was going to the body (and legs) a lot, which had visible effect on Colby's gastank. Usman's strikes had more authority, but he is better schooled striker than Colby as well.

Yeah that's true. Colby was still landing a ton though, he just want doing the damage that Usman was.

Usman's defense is not there, yet. And to be fair, his pressure style opens him up a lot. To develop good defense, while moving forward, takes years and years. GGG has very good defense, but still gets hit quite a bit, because he's always go forward style naturally puts him in the line of fire. If you are consantly on your front foot you're gonna get hit no matter what.

Wooow Gustaffson returning but to the heavyweight division to face Werdum. What a headline haha.

Honestly, I didn't expect that move from him. He's not a big LHW.
Without putting too much thought in this I think he should win, but I wanna hear some more opinions...

I hadn't seen this anywhere but good fight for both, not much makes sense for either atm

Think Gus HW move makes more sense than OSP. He should win this one
