I don't think vkram is saying they aren't finding legit prospects. They are finding good prospects and I think Sage is one BUT they fast track them to the UFC thats the problem.

Of course some of these guys could be complete prodigies and destroy the UFC guys but that is going to be really really rare. In most cases the new guys get bought up too fast and are going to get killed.

Most guys end up fighting in regional comps becuase they seemed like the best guy in their local gym. Then they fight locally and have a few good showings....It is a massive jump in skill to go to the UFC and start fighting the best of the best inernationally.

Of course we need to be selective but I like the idea of fading "Looking for a Fight" prospects. Also becuase the show is an ongoing thing they are obligated to keep bringing people in to maintain the show....whether they actually find great guys or not.

I also really love Barboza in this fight.

I managed to get a 3u bet in on him when he opened on Unibet @ 1.62 (-161) but even @ 1.44 (-227) I'd probably parlay him. Against Pettis he showed his striking still seems to be improving even if it's already the best in the division.

Gilbert has had some tough competition but I think a surging Edson Barboza is a horrible fight for him to come back to after a year of inactivity/PED suspension. Unlike top guys like Ferguson or Michael Johnson I don't see him being able to apply the suffacating pressure needed to deal with Barboza's crisp striking. So Melendez either needs to land a game-changer on Barbozas increasingly less suspect chin or grind it out with TD's and cage-wrestling. I think Barboza will be too strong and adept at circling out to get muscled around by Melendez against the cage and I don't think I've seen Melendez succesfully utilize a lot of wrestling since his days as Strikeforce champ.

I see Barboza having his way with El Niño, winning a dominant decision in a fight where Gilbert becomes less and less enthusiastic about engaging and ala Urijah Faber in the third fight against Cruz where it becomes more about surviving than trying to turn the tide, as the fight progresses.

Edson is probably still too flakey to ever become champion, unable to string enough wins together to get his shot and win it but on any given night he sure could be the best lightweight in the world. Gilbert though only 4 years older is a dinosaur in the MMA game compared to Edson and like he did after his fight against Pettis he will probably end up saying "He made me feel old... Kid is the new breed" or something similar.

I'll be looking out for the Barboza decision line as well - but I'll need +150-200 or better to bite.

I totally agree on everything you said and I would bite on Barboza dec even at 2.2 or so... Feels like the way most likely outcome.

Yeah thats pretty much spot on what I think. No doubt they guys they are signing are good prospects but they are being fast tracked to the UFC because they ended up on Lookin' for a Fight rather than growing in a more natural manner. The fact that Lopez got to fight Yahya on his debut (and be the favourite) is somewhat ridiculous, although I like many on here bought into the hype.

Anyone thinking of going to Bellator in London? Looks like they have slashed ticket prices, you can get a good lower tier seat in Block 112 for £50 plus fees. Equivalent seats are £200 plus fees for Brook-Golovkin.

Got my ticket today for £100, ringside seats row F. The original ticket was supposed to be £150 + fees.

I was on yahya simply based on wiki capping. Lopez had no pro experience even tho he was 8-0. I will almost always favour experience over a good looking record.

Who do you think are the best UFC handicappers on Twitter? Any worth following?

Luca Fury

The only tout I've seen that's even in profit this year is Boris Brown Bets. Fury is at a small loss I think, and MMABettingTips is at a HUGE loss.

Yeah... most seem to be fish on hot streaks betting too many massive favorites. This year has been pretty bad for that.

Yeah that's their downfall. Betting a silly amount like 7 units to win 1 unit regularly just doesn't work.

Well, I do not claim to be the best bro – although I am LOL — but feel free to follow me @MMAgamblingtips

I just gave out my entire UFC fight night 91 betting card where we won +5.1 units

But hell, there are a bunch of sharps on this forum right here.. But again, I'm the best

WTF? they misread the scorecards?

i feel bad for people who bet maldonado. deserve their stake back
Long story short he filed an appeal with the World MMA association? And they overturned the result due to Fedor being the Russian MMA president (conflict of interest) and their Judges all scoring it a draw.

However, the Russian MMA commission still refuses to change the result? Idk it's a big mess from what I've read

Anyone else think it might be a good idea to fade the guys they sign on Lookin' for a Fight? They are bringing in prospects before they are ready because of a good performance thus somewhat rushing them in to the UFC before they are fully ready.

Honestly, the results have not been that bad. I'm going off memory here, but Sage won his debut, Randy Brown won his debut, and Mickey Gall won his debut.

Missed the -110, but I think I like terrion ware -120 vs Marvin blumer on axs tonight

Marvin is the BJJ twin, don't think he can win I'd he doesn't get the more athletic ware down... ware should have a solid standup edge. Dude went 5 rds with Luke Sanders not long ago..

Blumer is the Minnesota native, but yea. I like ware here.
