Hah! Libertarians accusing other people of having aspergers/autism... that's a new wrinkle.

What's more, what has him making the diagnosis (and he dubiously claims to be a doctor) is that I'm familiar with the history and meaning of the term "libertarian." If he cared enough about what appears to be his chief social identification (and his justification for never having to think about specific issues or learn any facts) to just Google "history of term libertarian" and either read the first result or read the "Libertarianism" wiki, the whole thing would be settled.

Culture doesn't need defending by government action like that. That's like defending people from freedom of speech. Culture wars get played out in the marketplace of ideas. Western culture ultimately wins because it is superior, except in the places where it is not, then it assimilates other culture and becomes stronger. If you think your culture needs protecting, then obviously your culture isn't so hot after all. There may be some value in preserving it for posterity's sake like some indigenous culture, but it sure as hell ain't fit to dominate.

Interesting, and I would tend agree with most of the above paragraph. I do wonder about cultural eradication (i.e. what was done to natives) and how supplanting the "dominent" culture through sheer numbers/force is different than simply having a "best" culture arrived at through rational thought and/or pragmatism.
