Gane training with HW wrestlers from Dagestan

Looks like Ganes got some really good training partners for Jones between high level kickboxers and very good HW wrestlers.

Heavyweight Dagestani wrestlers? So he's training with Khabib after Khabib's tiramisu binge?

Gane could spend 10 wrestling camps working with high level wrestlers and he still won’t have a fraction of the grappling knowledge that Jones has…. Too much ground to cover.

His body just hasn’t developed the early mechanics of top level grappling. This guy made Ngannous wrestling look like Kyle Snyders…

Jones post USADA isn't the same Jones. It's unclear if he can actually get Gane down. If he does Gane would be in trouble. Jones still has plenty of weapons against a guy with questionable game off his back.

No one expected Ngannou to wrestle, I doubt Gane did much if any grappling training for that fight. Jones is obviously going to try and wrestle but his wrestling hasn't been good in years. Ngannou is also a much bigger man that's in his physical prime while Jones isn't.

I called it before the fight and Gane's coach had prepared for that and said before the fight he expected Ngannou to come with a wrestling heavy gameplan.

They just understimated him.

He doesn't have to. He just needs to know enough to implement his game.

This isn't a wrestling match.

Jones hasn’t wrestled effectively in several fights. Wouldn’t be surprised if he can’t even close the distance on Gane.

He better be! Look at this upright, stiff stance

A wrestlers wet dream
Oh you mean a wet dream to a teep, knee. or uppercut? lol Because those strikes can still be thrown from there. All those strikes have knocked out wrestlers shooting in.

This. You can improve BJJ and striking but wrestling is the hardest skill gap to close. Especially against a life long wrestler.

Then again, it remains to be seen what Jon Jones looks like at heavyweight. Also, let's not forget that Jon's wrestling isn't as dominant as it used to be. Dominick Reyes was able to either stuff or get up from Jones takedowns.

He should bring in Adam Coon to help him.

Heck, Adam could make a decent living working as a sparring partner for anyone getting ready to deal with Tyson Fury clinches in the boxing ring.

Yea Conor just needed enough wrestling to keep the fight standing vs khabib, quite simple
