I see him somewhere between Jones and Adesanya in the way he traps the lead hands and disrupts the opponents with oblique kicks, and gets away by circling and posting.
Compared to Jones his ground game is levels below, but he has better hands, and maybe even better kicks.
Compared to Adesanya, he is more willing to use wrestling and clinch.

Oh yeah I can see that as well. The GSP comparison is in part due to the French connection and a physical similarity. But definitely flashes of Jones and Adesanya in the range management, defense and kicking game.

We don't know anything about Gane's heart yet, I don't see how you can make that comparison, he's never really been pushed.

Kid fought his second fight with one lung, in TKO against a killer (collapsed lung ocurring during the fight) and still manage to push the pace to finish quickly because he knew he couldnt go 5 rounds.

Vera was intelligent enough to take his time.
With Gane it is a case of whether you see patience or timidity. One is perfect for this current heavyweight division the other is disastrous.

Probably because of how badly Rogan hyped him. He was Rousey before Rousey. There were those that thought he would be a two weight champ, was 'the future', good on the ground and on his feet. He never lived up to those expectations but as you point out, he was a very solid fighter, and in many ways was the prototype for the future.
