backup fighter dont mean you're number 1 contender. Theres a difference between guy on site in case someone misses weight or cant fight and you have someone there, ready, weighed in etc. This was almost two weeks out, there was still time to find a fight and they did.

What...no .. back up fighter means if someone pulls out or misses weight your in...
Otherwise wtf is the point of being a back up...gunna go through a training camp and make weight only to find out your not even being considered to fight...
This whole switch a roo calls into question the validity of back up fighters . .
Like are we gunna pretend if Volk missed there gunna give it to Gamrot... unlikely .. Islam will fight him regardless and his title wont be at risk... and if Islam misses in abu dabi ( absolutely impossible) then Gamrot isnt stepping into a fight against Volk for a UFC LW title fight...
