Tbf, I think he has the right to be angry. This mainevent should have been in the first place either Gamrot or Arman fighting for the title.

I mean I get it. He was set to be the back up and deep in training for it, but instead they went with Volkanovski who already got his shot.
That being said, it's clear why they went with Volk since he's the one that'll bring in way more eyes and is an interesting challenger considering how close the first fight was.

Tbh in a way I wish it was Gamrot because at least he was ready for this and it's also a fresh matchup for Islam, however Islam/Volk 2 all things considered is a great save.
I think they'll give Gamrot a fight against Oliveira late this year or in early 2024 to make up for it.

Volk couldn't beat Islam with a full camp, IN Australia and now he's supposed to go across the world to Islam's "home turf" and beat him on 2 weeks notice? This makes NO sense.
And if Islam wins, then he's gonna fight Charles?

Yeah, with Costa/Khamzat looking like it may be off, this is the only reason to have Volk in that spot, because the PPV is going to total shit. Need to salvage it I guess.
