Outside my wheelhouse, brother, with my being able to add only that connecting to your router via network (Ethernet) cable is advisable if not doing so already. I think your issue is a common one (video-streaming in general like Netflix are greater offenders than online gaming which is optimised for bandwidth, iirc) so I'd be interested to hear from dawgs more in the know what options are available to you. *a-hem, kick kids off Netflix during dad hours x-y

No, the XSX probably won't make a difference, there. Unfortunately, nothing will improve your ping or your download/upload speeds but switching to a superior ISP (Internet Service Provider). If there is none in your area, nothing you can do, that's the rural life. I know it well.

However, if all the devices on your network are choking your gaming, it's possible you could make things a lot better for yourself by upgrading your router. You're almost certainly on a WiFi 5 router (802.11ac). Upgrading to a WiFi 6 router (802.11ax), along with the Xbox Series X, which operates on that standard, could reduce latency because the newer hardware is much, much better at serving many different connections simultaneously. If your router is WiFi 4 (802.11n), for whatever ghastly reason, without question, you want to upgrade.

The reason is that the older routers and WiFi protocol will queue everybody up in one line. So your device ends up repeatedly waiting for queries. This introduces latency. It's like your family are all in separate cars on a huge road, but in single file. The newer router splits you into lanes. This way you don't get stuck waiting behind your family. You each have your own lane.

It doesn't increase the size of the road (download/upload bandwidth), or how quickly the traffic lights change (your ping), but if you were being held up in line, it could very much improve your gaming quality of life. I say could because I have no idea if this is currently affecting you. If it isn't, changing things won't improve anything.

I figured it wouldnt hurt to ask about the console thing because i have no clue on how to better my connection besides using the ethernet cable or resetting router lol

I will be looking into the router situation maybe this could be something i can do to improve my connection at least.

I doubt your router is throttling you. That doesn't have all the latest bells and whistles, nor is it a high-end gaming router, but it's an adequate WiFi 5. Besides, I double checked, and I misremembered, because the XSX only uses WiFi 5.

Your router does support QoS. You could look into utilizing this to prioritize your Xbox for bandwidth and queuing. You have to log into your router. Find your IPv4 address, then type that in to your browser. You'll need your router's admin password.

An easier solution than fiddling with that, is to put everyone else in your family and all other devices on the 2.4GHz band, then keep the Xbox on the 5GHz by itself (or vice versa).

With a large household it just seems very likely that all your bandwidth is taken up by streaming 4K videos and other shenanigans. I would look to see how much traffic goes through your router (consult the manual) and this will give you a good indication about whether you just need a better ISP or better equipment.

Chances are your household is just using up all the bandwidth and there's nothing you can do other than limiting that.

Gamesense Meta Review

Founded in 2020, Gamesense is a peripherals company based in the US. As the Meta is their first release, Gamesense went with a popular shape for this one, the Zowie S2. The internals have been upgraded almost entirely across the board: PixArt's PMW3360 sensor capable of 12,000 CPI is complemented by Kailh GM 4.0 switches for the main buttons, which have been binned for lighter actuation. The Meta only weighs 64 g, but has no holes anywhere. A particularly flexible, paracord-like cable is used, along with 0.8 mm thick pure PTFE feet. The usual customization options are provided in software, along with the ability to adjust the Meta's RGB lighting.

They're obviously going after the hardcore market. As TPU notes this mouse is an obvious Zowie S2 clone. IMO, this is welcome, because I'd like more competition offering lower prices for well-built mice with simple, proven designs and quality materials/sensors/performance/firmware than the unreliable Chinese junk that populates the budget offerings on the market, currently, or the effete overpriced bullshit like Finalmouse.

The most negative issue suffered by the mouse was the consistent 7.5% positive deviation of the CPI (aka DPI). That's really not an issue if you've read the review because if you're a player who uses an 800 DPI, for example, you can just set it to 745 instead. Meanwhile, it was pretty much perfect everywhere else, and had phenomenally low latency.

This mouse is $45 directly from their website, currently ($5 cheaper than the Amazon price). Obviously Logitech is the market leader, and this price places it head-to-head against the G403 Hero. Not sure how well it will do, there, but it's nice to see another company throw its hat in the ring alongside the likes of Logitech, Razer, Zowie, Roccat, VAXEE, HyperX, XTRFY, etc.

Have you read much on the quality of the Razer Death Adder V2? They've sold tons of the V1 versions but you always hear the same thing, they break around that 9 month mark.

The G502 has been around forever so it'll take awhile for someone to catch up in sales.
Logitech also has an established brand name with an excellent reputation. For years you've seen Logitech products on the shelves at Best Buy, Circuit City, Wal-mart, etc. Unless you're a hardcore FPS or MOBA gamer you've probably never heard of Zowie, Glorious, etc.

From what I hear both Intel and AMD next generation CPU's will be a substantial jump in performance very unlike their previous generation jumps. I believe Apple caused AMD and Intel to do more radical changes to their architecture vs tweaking their performance we are talking between 30 to 50 percent jump performance vs 10 to 15 percent jump. Jumping the performance lift requires radical and expensive revisions to the design of the chips.

I’m a g900 user. Other than my previous mouse, Mionix Naos, every other mouse going back 15 years have been Logitech’s.
They make a good product, you can’t really go wrong buying their stuff.

Yeah in my experience they have always been reliable.

I also have an MX Master 3 that I use with my laptop.

It's not retaining its lead accrued over past years. It's still the Amazon #1 bestseller in PC Gaming Mice nearly every 24-hour period (including the most recent one).

Still the cheapest mouse Logitech offers ($40 at Amazon) with the vaunted HERO 25K sensor. Plus it has more than a few mouse side buttons, so it's more versatile than for simply playing low-hotkey FPS titles. It's a pretty obvious choice for most gamers. Plus it's viable for any grip style, and anyone who doesn't have small hands. Such a phenomenal option.

People never factor past sales when buying buying a product. Nope. Never. I mean who looks at a product and says "man, they've sold a lot of these. it must mean it's a shitty product. i shouldn't even consider it for purchase"
