I think part of the reason Nvidia went with Samsung is that Apple will never work with Samsung ever again. Apparently that could have something to do with Apple not being able to jump over Samsung phone line specifically the high resolution cellphone screen after that Apple went back to LG. I think Intel has a winner on their hands but Nvidia just on another level with the way they make stuff work. Everyone questioned "Including me" why take up so much real estate on the chip with AI stuff but seeing how it is contributing in unique ways towards image quality. Nvidia got a huge winner on their hands with the 3XXX series and I bet they will be really hard to get your hands on one.
they went with samsung because they didn't have a choice. they used it as a negotiation tactic with tsm to try to leverage them into lower pricing and tsm called their bluff and filled their capacity from other customers. so nvidia couldn't get anywhere near as many wafers from tsm as they needed.
