Everyone questioned "Including me" why take up so much real estate on the chip with AI stuff but seeing how it is contributing in unique ways towards image quality. they went with samsung because they didn't have a choice. they used it as a negotiation tactic with tsm to try to leverage them into lower pricing and tsm called their bluff and filled their capacity from other customers. so nvidia couldn't get anywhere near as many wafers from tsm as they needed.
 
Still rocking my 980ti but gonna def get the 3080ti for christmas this year.

Also damn still yellow carded after a month. The mod mustve been a huge Gustafsson fan, glad my boy Werdum beat that ass.

It was well known that TSMC cannot fill their bookings it has been an issue for a few years. They where the first to produce in 10nm where they worked with Global Foundries and IBM to achieve this milestone. Global Foundries status is unknown but IBM got out of the business. They then moved to 7nm production and Samsung was shooting to move to 7nm but seems like they decided to go to 8 nm likely to improve yields. I hear TSMC yields are horrible but they seem to be willing to take a hit for now. They are likely backed by the Taiwanese Government to squeeze out others.
 
What would you guys say is a good price to get a used 2080ti?

Some people on eBay already desperate to sell those things and its probably gonna get more

Considering how a 3070 is gonna be 500 bucks, I wouldn't pay more than like 350. I always get new cards though so I'm not sure what that market looks like.
 
Hey guys I'm a noob who just bought a computer a little while ago. I have been using a spare flatscreen and it kinda sucks so I'm buying a moniter on Monday.

Whats does one look for in a good moniter these days? I have a six hundred dollar (CAD) budget. My gaming tastes range from subnautica and star citizen to Civ and Xcom2.

$200-300. The 3070 is almost double in speed. What you get for it is not having to wait. Honestly, a 2080 is still a beast card. I play almost all games at max or near max settings and 4k. The new card I think will still have the same hold ups that raytracing does, hardly anyone utilizes it in software. No one is making Crysis like games that 5 years after release the hardware catches up to the software. You would probably be best snag a cheap 2080 and wait for the 30xx to be second gen.

lolz! great gif, but tsmc's yields are great. their 7nm are killer and their 5nm are said to be even better. tsmc really does have a stranglehold on everyone, right now.

samsung's yields are godawful, but if they can get good yields at 2nm, they might be the future. but that's more of a gaafet vs finfet issue.

What are your computer's components? That's important to determining a monitor it is capable of running.

Gonna get the EVGA 3080 hybrid. Love that AIO water cooling silence. I can't stress enough how big I am about quietness. If I could have a fanless pc I would.

I think EVGA has one featured on their site. I personally prefer AIO's just because it's pretty much plug in play and I don't have time or patience to setup and maintain a proper loop.
