Tech Gaming Hardware discussion (& Hardware Sales) thread

I think Synapse is kind of decent, never really had any issues with it. I use the Basilisk on my desktop and the G502X on my laptop but I actually just use "Logitech Onboard Memory Manager", it's lightweight and way better than G Hub. I pretty much only open it to check my mouse battery.
Yeah, mostly that's what I want from mice software, too. Just don't take up resources. Unless you're fucking around with macros there's not much else for it to do, really. Although the one nifty feature with Synapse that I use currently is to assign different profiles depending on the type of game I'm playing. Certain games, especially single player games, like the Borderlands franchise, for example, require me to turn my DPI all the way down to 400 achieve a reasonable cm/360 sensitivity (actually I think I even had to alter the config ini with 2 just for it to be sane).

I have always found that DPI obnoxious af because even with the highest Windows cursor scrolling setting outside of games (20) it's too slow. I'm not a grandma, I play competitive shooters, I can handle the horsepower, LOL. Besides, theoretically, it's inferior for precision to use a lower DPI, not that it practically matters.

Bloomberg cant DMCA this level of stupidity:

I can wait. Really I need to buy a couch and other things in the meantime. I mostly just hang out in my room with the PC in here, and move it out into the living room if I have friends over to play fighting games and shit.

I'm also thinking I want something I can add a shitload of hard drives to, but maybe I should build a server for that instead so I can tap both PC's into.
$1,099 Walmart iBuyPower desktop with 14400 and 5070. It's not the greatest build if you want to upgrade it in the future, but you don't otherwise see 70 tier GPUs at this price.

You also get a free copy of BF6 as a bonus for Intel Gamer Days.

Yeah, but you can use the couple hundred bucks you're saving compared to DIY to just buy a new case if it really bugs you lol

When I went to Best Buy today, I looked at a PC with this case on display. It looks even worse in person.

There's a pretty decent gap between the vertical LED strip and the front panel. I could understand it if it had mesh on the side to help with airflow, but it doesn't.
And the vertical LED strip doesn't even go to the top of the case, it stops a couple inches short.

It looked like they took an insert from another case, and just slapped it in.

Debating over the past week with changing my mouse. Problem is the convenience of Powerplay keeping my G502X wireless mouse constantly charged and a decade of using the G502's additional thumb button as my jump bind in gaming.

Pwnage Stormbreaker 8K with glass feet is the current front runner. Bind wise the best scenario seems to be making page forward the jump bind and moving VOIP to the scroll wheel click.

Only thing i gotta look further into is glass feets long term interaction with hard surface mousepads.

That's fairly likely. The SI's adjust components based on whatever they have in stock, the only part you can guarantee is the CPU, everything else is variable. It's one of the reasons they crush everyone else in sales and on price.

As far as I can tell, iBuyPower is starting to drop the Slate family and position it as entry level, and Element is replacing it.

PS If it makes you feel better Walmart is one of the few retailers that can force sales at cost or close to it for PCs.

what would be the commonly accepted specs now a ways, for a mid range gaming PC?

GPU
CPU
mobo
ram
ps

GPU it does depends from intended use.
BTW it is used also for CUDA etc type stuff too.

RAM : depends from config >
minimum 16 GB RAM but here one should look on reaction time and bus speed/ productivity even more than about RAM " size " in GB.

A lot of configs with 32 GB RAM are slower than 16 GB RAM configs too.

What games are you looking to play, and at what resolution?. Building a PC for League of Legends at 1080p 60hz doesn't require anywhere near the power that Cyberpunk at 4k 144hz does.

As for apps it depends how much data convs app is using. For one might be better if you have " faster " cores " even if lesser, for another will be better if will be more cores even if lesser " speed ".
Data conveyers number and " speed " between core and cache No1, L1, cache No2 and if proc does have L3 too does have.

As for RAM first criteria usually is data bus response time and productivity..then " size ".
Ofc like more os better for RAM but it does depends.
Some modern stuff is smoothly using " just " 8 GB RAM, for some better is to have 64 GB physical RAM...

Yeah, quit using ChatGPT to try to answer things you know nothing about.
You look like a fool.

You are dumb. I don't use even auto correct soft to type here, not alone I should teach ppl for free how to do modding, you should piss off to milk advises in free forums and start to PAY for opinions ....this one.

Are you one from these rude kids crying about ML tools???

Piss off and do something in real life. However you don't have ... yes...even brains remainings.

PBlah blah blah, you got caught.

That I do know that you don't have job and all your technical skills are to bite ppl in MMA forums about technical stuff you actually don't know, not alone that you don't pay bills for internet services you are using?

Update--- I was taking apart the old rig. I noticed that the screws holding in the water cooler on the CPU were very loose. I mean really loose. Like I think I could have easily unscrewed them with my fingers. Makes me wonder what actually died. I know for a fact I screwed them in tight when I built this thing, so I'm not sure what could have happened.
