Tech Gaming Hardware discussion (& Hardware Sales) thread

Wasnt even aware of that issue. Only one i heard about through was certain AMD CPU's having stuttering issues. Which kind of makes sense now. For some posters were posting that their game would be getting 300+ fps but felt like 60 fps.

On my first couple of matches, I had really bad stuttering issues. I'd be strafing, let me fingers off the buttom, but I'd keep strafing for 4-5 more steps. I fell off Vertigo a couple of times.
Or, the frame rate would have a massive drop off.

I ended up doing custom games, and just running around throwing smokes everywhere on maps. Once I did that, my stuttering issues went away.

edit:
This is another example to add to the list of annoyances from buying an AMD card.

I went with an AMD card this time, and I'm regretting it. Their software is still bad.
I've run into issues like driver crashes when streaming, I've gotten the old green screen after driver updates a couple of times, etc.

Monetch x3 Mesh sold and shipped by Amazon for $55. It includes 3 140mm fans and 3 120mm fans. The fans do have RGB, but it's static colors and can't be changed, but they can be turned off.

Gamers Nexus gave it the 2022 best budget case recommendation. Full review here.

CS2 update today put a check in place for AMD GPU users about their drivers at game launch. Also Valve has begun reverting VAC bans that Antilag caused.

Cant think of a bigger L that AMD self inflicted from a driver release.

Bigger L? Who gives a shit about competing cs2 with a modern gaming card.

Considering CS2 is the most played game on Valve’s platform, releasing a driver that gets players banned is a huge fucking deal.

News to me. I don't even know anyone that plays CS2.

This is the stats from Steam right now

1. Counter-Strike 2 782,154
2. Dota 2 520,989
3. Baldur's Gate 3 137,732
4. PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS 127,887
5. Apex Legends 119,400

At 8:00am this morning, there were over a million players.

Keep in mind, some CS2 players have thousands of dollars worth of skins for the game.
Imagine how outraged you'd be if an AMD driver caused you to get banned, and you lost your skins.

I can't remember the specific case but I saw one awhile back (maybe in this very thread) with the bottom fan positioned at a 45 degree angle.

I think I would be more outraged that I am retarded.

Xbox Black Friday Sale 2023 Deals Announced

I saw reports start popping up 3 days ago that there will be a Black Friday discount on both PS5 bundles and Xbox Series X bundles on Black Friday, but the notices I saw were advertising price drops on Wal-Mart, and the price quoted is $499, when that sale price is already active currently, and when Microsoft is already selling either of the bundles for $449, also currently active. I don't know if these are legitimate price drops, but I did check Amazon price trackers, and the Diablo XSX bundle was still at the $559 MSRP on Amazon up until the end of June this year, and reached an all-time low sale of $489 for just a few days last month ($529 was the lowest stable price). So $449 appears to be a new low for the bundle even if that only matches the historic low for the console itself (i.e. not in a bundle) from official resellers.

($449) Microsoft Official Store: Xbox Series X + Diablo IV bundle
($449) Microsoft Official Store: Xbox Series X + Forza Horizon 5 bundle

You can learn more about the details of the bundles here:

Glorious GMMK 60% with hot swappable Gateron Browns for $25.20 on Amazon. Glorious is known for their Model O mice, so it's not a no name Chinese company. Gateron has been around forever, and make a good product. For the price, it's a very solid keyboard.
Since it's hot swappable, if you don't like the switches, you can swap your own switches. If you prefer reds, or blues, or clears, etc you can get genuine Gateron switches for $28. There's a ton of other switch options, like Akko who are considered budget, but good.

Pardon if wrong thread.

Does anyone use a mount for Apple TV box that they would recommend? I thought I wanted a metal one, but saw reviews say steel interferes with WIFI/bluetooth, saw an expensive aluminum one, various plastic ones.

I want something to hang it from wire shelf. I might try to buy a wire grid platform that has two hooks to hang on wire shelf if that's the best I could find.

The GOAT hardware deal from 25 years ago:

Its been nearly a month with my new build. So that time has come where i offer people my old setup. All i ask is you pay shipping costs from New York to your location. If you wish to include more it would be nice but isnt required.

Build:
1. 5800X
2. 2x16gig DDR4 3600
3. MSI MPG X570
4. MSI 1080 ti
5. Acer 24.5" 240hz monitor
6. CPU heatsink is Fuma 2 Rev.B

This isnt all or nothing. Its just Pc hardware collecting dust that someone out there could probably use.

We'll see if this time around they deliver. It would set a new ceiling for air coolers, and change the landscape. This achievement would be especially significant given the recent paradigm shift in how CPUs are calibrated to draw power in relation to a thermal limit. Fingers crossed because the V8 GTS was a major disappointment.

Cooler Master's new AIO and air coolers can dissipate 300W of heat and beyond

Tom's Hardware said:
Cooler Master has unveiled two new CPU coolers capable of dissipating 300W of heat or greater. The air cooler is the V8 3DVC, the successor to the V8 GTS, sporting a much more modern aesthetic and significantly more advanced heatpipe technology. The liquid cooler is known as the G11 AIO and features Cooler Master's latest dual-pump design, which reportedly increases cooling efficiency significantly. You can bet we'll be reviewing both units soon for a chance to compete for a position in our list of Best CPU Coolers of 2024.

The V8 3DVC is a completely new cooler from Cooler Master that is capable of handling CPU thermal loads of up to 300W. The vapor chamber has been completely redesigned to improve thermal efficiency. The heat pipes used in the V8 3DVC are Cooler Master's latest Superconductive Composite heat pipe technology, which reportedly doubles the "q-max" or the maximum heat transfer efficiency of the heat pipes.
