People say we gamers just subscribe & listen to 'influencers' we agree with and later tell us what our opinions are.

Yet another example why that isn't true -
I've followed Razorfist for 13+ years and I've disagreed with him far more often than I've agreed about games, but I absolutely respect him for stating his unique opinions.

The new Doom games are great, but man their lore is corny as fuck. I wish they’d go back to their routes of barely any story. Invasion of Mars from Hell with a lone space marine. I don’t want any of this Doom Slayer nonsense.

Don't know if I should congratulate him for doing such an impressive feat.

Or congratulate him for spending thousands of hours to learn to play... a plastic controller.

2016 hit the right note for me, that there is something going on, but it's not the focus, you're there to massacre demons.

Doom Eternal, the story was just insane gibberish, and it got in the way more. It looks like if anything they're leaning more into the story for the next game, which has me a bit worried. But on my second playthrough (and on) I can just hit the skip button.
