Gaethje's Return

Gaethje will have his hands full for Chandler. Chandler actually matches up well with him and its going to be a wild fight. I favor Gaethje, but won't be shocked at all if Chandler upsets him.

Very similar fighters, but Gaethje is the bigger way who has fought better competition

I dont think gaethje beats Conor, Dustin, or maybe even chandler. I think his title aspirations are mostly over. Ppl overstate his growth hes a little more patient but thats all he hasn't revamped his whole striking game. Dustin easily outstruck besides the leg kicks. And Conor probably does the same he has the reach, speed, power, movement, technique and accuracy advantages. Chandler is 50/50 cause he will brawl

He tried a couple times, half arsed attempts but Justin was having none of it. Justin knew he had to keep his distance and pick him apart with superior footwork and striking.
As for the Charles fight I honestly think Tony's best chance is on the ground. Don't get me wrong Charles is a beast on the ground but he leaves himself open to submissions in his own attempt at one, and to give Tony that space is dangerous. I think his best bet is to keep it standing, his stand up game has improved ten fold over the past year or 2.
1. when did ge try? I'll go to watch. i don't remember a single try.
2. charles takea less risks on the ground now. look at his fight with kevin lee. he always holds a limb in order to be safe. he was not like that 3 years ago.

Is he going to show up to fight from now on? Horrible showing against Khabib. Was beaten before they closed the cage door. Flushed all his cred he had earned by dominating Tony.
I think he did show up. He was just taken aback by Khabib's aggressiveness, and what could be argued as recklessness. Who knows if he landed some flush shots on Khabib how it could've gone. We might've looked at this fight the way we look at Fedor vs Werdum. But Khabib rushed to close the deal and actually got it done without taking major shots so we are looking it like Fedor vs Sylvia.

Lots to analyze in this fight imo. Maybe Khabib wanted to "get it over with". Maybe that was his calculated approach. Or maybe he had to push the pace that hard before the leg kicks took their toll.

I can't remember which round but he attempted his signature roll looking for the heel, don't know the exact name of it. I'll need to go back and watch the KL fight, hopefully your right, watched his finishings on his earlier fights and Tony would definitely be able to capitalise. Either way this is gonna be an interesting fight, lot on the line for both fighters.

Besides wrestling (and I seriously doubt Chandler can do what Khabib did) and punching power, Gaethje is better everywhere: technical striking (as seen in recent fight), leg kicks, etc. You need to go back and watch Chandler's last fight with a Friere brother as well as his fights with Will Brooks, a total UFC flop. Oh, I forgot PEDs. Chandler has had a big edge there being outside USADA, but their residual benefits will decrease over time.

I favor Gaethje but I expect a wild fight. Won't surprise me if Chandler gets him.

I would've made Doostin vs Gaethje for the title, considering they're the last two interim chiefs to hold the fort with the real champ gone. But there's also Tony, RDA and Conor, former title holders. So, maybe the way it's all playing out right now makes sense.

Except for Chandler. I'm not sure why he's in the mix, besides UFC paying a lot for him. I'd like to see him first vs a TOP 10 talent, like Dober or Iquinta.

imanari roll? i don't remember him trying.. and even if he did, i think he should've try more times + more types (double leg, single leg, pull guard), after realizing that he's losing.

hope we'll enjoy a great fight. i love both of them. wish one of them will be the champ.

I’m a big fan of Gaetje but his showing against Khabib makes Conor look like the next LW king in Khabib’s absence. It was a disappointing showing Gaetje. LW rankings as it stands now according to me is this. Granted Conor doesn’t deserve to be no.1 based on activity but I think he beats the rest in top 5 with RDA being his toughest challenge
1) Conor
2) Dustin
3) Gaetje
4) Tony
5) Dan Hooker/RDA

Yeah he tried once maybe twice, he just couldn't get close enough to try a double or single leg, Justin's gameplan was good, keep him at distance and keeping touching him. Every time Tony went forward he got hurt. Remember he done a double weight cut aswell so that definitely wouldn't have helped him, time will soon tell. I like Charles but want Tony to win this one!

did you think he was going to beat Ferguson?

Title shot or #1 contender fight
He just fought for the title so there is no way the UFC will give him an immediate Title shot the only fight that makes sense for Justin is Chandler because it is rumored that they will fight in the Co-Main at UFC 257

I dont know,im a fan and i want him to take 1 year off after the Khabib fight, looked tired after 2 min in
Justin took absolute no serious damage against Khabib which means that he can return to the cage asap

What? He got choked out. Was doing well and admittedly khabib said his leg was hurt and was rocked.

khabib put in a masterclass. But gaetje is as tried and true warrior as it gets in prize fighting.

Gaetje would smash oliveira. IMO. I like both guys but just because khabib got gaetje down does t mean much compared to anybody else in the division.

it also shows you how good Connor is. Went over 4 was off for 2 years plus and still put in a fight.

Connor and gaetje would be as good as it gets for me. There is no way that fight could be bad.

a guy like chandler could stop that so if Charles wins. I’d like chandler vs Charles. And if conor wins conor vs gaetje.

not very real. As the ufc should have done a tournament format for the title. But hey. Just my personal wish

Every time Tony went forward he got hurt.
every time khabib got close to justin, he got hurt also. so what? he continued. i really think that tony would win a rematch with Justin, if he only had an average+ coach.

I think the last reason had a bit to play. Those leg kicks looked like they were starting to wear on Khabib. He seemed to get alot more urgent with the take downs the more the legkicks landed.
