Gaethje plans to confront winner immediately

He can jump in the ring all he wants, he's still losing to whoever he faces next, Dustin by KO or Charles by submission.
Imo Gaethje's on the same tier as those two as evidenced as the war he had with Dustin. He might win and he might lose, but it will be another classic.

Justin to Dustin: "Where's my rematch, buddy?"

Unfortunately, Conor was the first to really prove that it's not.
Meh?? Are you saying Conor did not earn his fw shot by beating Brimage, Holloway (future champ), Brandao (TUF champ), Poirier (future champ, #5 ranked), siver (10 ranked) and Chad (1 ranked)?

If you want to illustrate gifted title shots, use Brock as an example, not Conor. Conor still is undefeated at featherweight, was 13-0 there before he got his title shot in the UFC, 6-0 in the UFC, where as Brock was 1-1 in the UFC and 2-1 in MMA. Others examples = Yoel and Gus, who both were coming off losses and got title shots, Randy Couture, or even Sandhagen as of recent.

I think he means Conor's second lw shot against Khabib when Ferguson probably deserved it more.

Oh yah, that kind of makes sense, but Conor still was the lineal lw champ and Khabib was incredibly thirsty for the red panty night - i.e. DM'ing Conor and saying his son would be humiliated if he did not take the fight, slapping Artem, calling him 'chicken', etc. The UFC kind of had no other option after the bus incident, and the lineal champ consolidating the belt is a long tradition even in boxing.

To be honest, I really dont think UFC babied Conor as much as other fighters or as others make it seem. Im frankly kind of shocked they do not baby him and give him what he wants more. If he were Ronda, they would have stripped Khabib if he refused the rematch or flat out not let Khabib in the UFC like they did with Cyborg.

Fuck Gaethje, that would be a classless move.

I disagree, its a smart "marketing" move. Grudge matches or matches with heat get the most buys. Justin has never had beef with either guy but if he can manufacture one, that's increased buy rates which means more money for both guys.

Ye thats fair, can't blame poirier at all especially how that last fight with Gaethje turned out. I do hope that if it does happen, Gaethje/Oliveira fight for an interim/guaranteed title shot in the meantime just to keep the division going.
The best possible outcome is probably Charles winning - this way, no controversy at all and DP can have the McGregor rematch but not for the belt. The only downside in this is that DP Justin = perfect stylistic match up and 100% gonna be a war.

Honestly, he's been pretty respective about both guys in recent interviews. I'm optimistic with good reason that it would just be a good natured challenge rather than anything disrespectful.

I honestly can’t stand Justin. He is just one of the most overrated fighters out there.

Has Justin always been this annoying ? Jfc...

I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I hope Conor gets the next shot so Justin doesn't get it.

I mean he has exciting fights against strong opponents. I don't see how he is overrated. Nobody is currrently saying he is the best lw, although he is probably in the mix.

So a one sided beating rather than a evenly matched war?

Justin should plan to blow his nose first, shit been blocked asf for a century
