The sentence above is the issue. There is no reason an election should be run well enough to factor in errors and get the right person in office. There shouldn't be a single error in 2021. Heaps of rules were changed late due to the pandemic. I personally think voter ID and no mass mail in votes is a pretty reasonable request. If you genuinely don't believe that more votes were counted in error as a result of this election on both sides I think you are pretty naïve. I will call it right now that there will be a switch back in the Senate for Republicans and we will hear claims of voter fraud and election issues from Democrats.

The phrase there was no significant voter fraud to change the election results isn't good enough. It should be there was no election fraud because we have processes that cover those issues because we live in a first world country. Something as basic as ID's and requesting mail in votes is a good start.

You have never worked with large systems, spread over large areas, with large silo'd groups. This idea that there should be no error is unattainable and to actually try for that would be a huge waste of money. There wasn't one state where 0.1% error would have made a difference. It is nice to say that there should be no error but that shouldn't even be a real goal. The goal is the error shouldn't affect the election, which it never has. Everyone wants to claim that the election was rigged because of xyz but I don't think most really has an idea of what 1 out 1000 fraudulent votes looks like. 1 out of 1000 votes would be so obvious and massive that it would be impossible to hide and even at that amount, it wouldn't have swayed the end result.

If you wanted to tighten up the election, the easiest way to do it would be just to focus on the 4 or 5 states from the previous election that were close. All the other states are lopsided enough that it is unlikely any fraud could affect the result.

It's the election for who is running the country. It's worth being accurate. It's not a waste of money at all. We will here all this same election fraud crap at the next election regardless of who wins. One Democrat candidate was contesting the election based off ineligible votes not being counted. That race was decided by less than 10 votes.

I don't actually think it would be too hard to fix the election.
1.All eligible people are enrolled to vote. You must vote or you receive a small fine. If you don't like a candidate just draw a dick on your ballot to void your vote.
(Fixes the issues of illegal voters and makes a consistent amount of votes be tallied based of population.)
2.ID's are produced at the polls or designated election offices to request mail in absentee votes. No mass mail in votes sent out, no collection by party agents.
(Proves people are actually who they are and voted for who they did)
3.Election workers are vetted, paid for their time and everything can be viewed from a gallery type area by local state government who can ensure the process is correctly done.(The hardest part because money and time)
4. Early voting with all of the above rules,2-4 week period to cast your vote. Everyone can make time to get an in person vote or mail in vote during that time.

This fixes voter suppression, because everyone must vote. It fixes ID being an issue and gives people who can't make the polls plenty of time to vote. Election workers are vetted and paid, leading to more efficient counting and procedures.

I just stole some of Australia's processes to be honest, but it seems to work here with our smaller population. I could compare compulsory voting with obama care or wone of those type executive orders, but I know it would never happen so I won't waste the time arguing the point. I used to hate compulsory voting, but with absentee request it's pretty good to be honest.

Jeff flake is a POS and he was a senator not a house member. there were close to 30 of the top of my head house members that didn't run for reelection, many because of so called Trump Russia collusion. It is much harder for an incumbent to lose an election than someone challenging them and these people just handed their seats over

Sorry man but I am going to have to agree with @Prefect. No system is 100% perfect. Human error alone will cause the system to be off. You can't develop a system for human intentions. Most people develop a system to be good enough and then develop measures behind it (audits/hand counts) to verify the results if they go outside the expected outcome.
