FX's FARGO Discussion Thread

Excited for this. Carrie Coon is amazing in The Leftovers.

Carrie Coon was great in the Leftovers. Excited for this season. Just hope they can work a bit on the endings as I feel that´s their weak point.

This show is so fucking good. I'm hyped. But not as much as for Westworld!

First two seasons are as good as almost anything I've seen. First show ever that my gf was more obsessed with than me.

10 CLOVERFIELD LANE's Mary Elizabeth Winstead to Star in FARGO Season 3

FX's Fargo continues to draw star power. BrainDead and 10 Cloverfield Lane star Mary Elizabeth Winstead has joined the cast of the Noah Hawley anthology, THR has learned.

The Fargo casting is in second position to CBS' summer drama BrainDead, meaning if the latter scores a second season and Fargo interferes with the production schedule, Winstead will do only BrainDead.

Season three of Fargo has been rumored to take place in 2010, following the events of the breakout drama's freshman season. It's unclear how or if it will tie into the events from the first run, though none of the stars from season one will return.

Winstead will play Nikki Swango, a crafty and alluring recent parolee with a passion for competitive bridge playing. She is a woman with a plan who is focused on always being at least one move ahead of her opponents.

Ewan McGregor will topline season three and play the dual roles of brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy in what will be his first TV series regular role. The Leftovers' Carrie Coon is set as Gloria Burgle, a practical woman who is the chief of police in Edna Valley and a newly divorced mother. She struggles to understand this new world around her, where people connect more intimately with their phones than those directly in front of them.

Production on the third installment of Fargo is set to begin later this year for a 2017 debut on FX.

Already excited for season 3 but Mary Elizabeth Winstead is just icing on the cake.

Most excellent. Definitely a fan of Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

She fucking killed it Scott Pilgrim and 10 Cloverfield Lane. It will be very interesting to see what she can bring to a production like Fargo.

s2 all the way, the conclusion to Hanzee's arc was shoehorned and clunky but Mike's (I believe that was Bokeem Woodbine's characters name) was amazing and on par with Vic Mackie's.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this 3rd season: both because it takes place in 2010, and now because it has mah girl Winstead in it.

I loved the 1st season, and thought the 2nd shit the bed really bad after the first few episodes. Mostly due to the hokey style over substance, which seemed to me inspired by the retro theme. A 2010 setting should get back to the simple hometown noir that made the film & the 1st season true classics.

best anthology on tv

however, little surprised they are jumping back to a tale of two brothers themed story.

excited and will watch.

I loved season 1 to death, & I absolutely fuckin' hated season 2.

Hopes are not high for this, but I'll give it a chance.
I didn't hate it because Ted Danson was awesome, otherwise meh

Ted Danson was great

The 1st season was the shit though. The brit Martin Freeman played a great weasel as Lester, and Billy Bob was a goddamn force of nature.

Loved season 2 and the parallels between big corporations and small town mom and pop enterprises; something that was really staring to take root in the 70's. The huge KC outfit coming in an essentially trying to buy out the long standing small town operation -- and of course, since it was organized crime, there was no market solution so it ended up a blood battle. Just to mega side win -- but, with the caveat that MIke realizing the landscape of the business is drastically changing; the same realizes the small mom and pop shops have to come to realize.

Oh, and awesome and brutal kill scenes

brilliant.

Still have season 1 ahead.

season 1 was amazing.. 2 was good but didnt dig the UFO stuff. I know why they did it but I still didnt like it... It wasnt a bad season just 1 was so damn good

There was a UFO in season 2? O.o
Glad to see other people loved season 1 the most. I found season 2 was creepy, stilted and boring and without the humor and likeability of the chatacters.
Contrary to probably everyone; I don't like Ewan McGregor or Mary Weinstead. I find her really vacant and unexpressive as an actress.
Ill check it out still, season 1 knocked my socks off and I didn't care for any of the actors before that.
