Funniest video game?

I found Borderlands 3 writing both hilarious and witty.
 
South Park games have always been great. Stick of Truth and Fractured but Whole are hysterical, i still have fond memories of Chef's Luv Shack
 
  • Yep, High on Life was hysterical.
  • Stick of Truth is easily the funniest game I've ever played. The Fractured But Whole is also great, and even more twisted.
  • Handsome Jack in Borderlands 2 was hilarious.
  • Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is 80's macho sendup comedy gold.
  • Portal 2 is timeless.
  • Conker's Bad Fur Day has to be in the running for the dirtiest game a preadolescent could play and have no idea what the jokes are.
  • Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy had some awesome running dialogue during missions that you only caught if you were close enough to hear, and depended on which team members you had with you.
  • IIRC Star Fox 64 made me giggle decades ago when it came out.

I really enjoyed the humor in Borderlands 1 as well. Granted it was a lot of more reading but what they wrote was funny as hell. But yeah Borderlands 2 was one of the funniest games I’ve also ever played.

Borderlands 2 also has 3 of the awesomest gaming trailers IMO. The humor was all over 2 of these trailers as well. Couldn’t wait to play it and it was worth it.

Stick of Truth still makes me laugh out loud and I haven't played it in years.
 
the terry pratchet games and a bunch of point and click adventures. Monkey island.

Cant knock the South Park games theyre essentially south park
 
I remember playing a game on my Commodore 64. I believe it was called sex games or sex olympics. Very silly game. I was young and impressionable so I'll never forget.
 
I think humor works best in games where humor isn't the main draw. You'd expect a South Park game to be funny, but in games like God of War, they sprinkle in bits of humor that are surprisingly effective because they catch you off guard.

In the last 2 games Mimir shares quite a bit of wisdom but every now and then he says something so off the wall you can't help but laugh.
 
South Park games obviously.
Far Cry Blood Dragon was funny like a cringey 80's B-movie.
 
For me one of the funniest games I played was Telltale's Tales from the Borderlands. Wasn't expecting much as it was a free games with gold game but I liked the Walking Dead games they did so I tried it and I had so many laughs with that title. Highly recommended.

Agreed 100%. I had a hard time thinking of any game that was funny for me. Maybe Armed and Dangerous, Serious Sam, Duke Nukem, even Blood, but none made me laugh.

Borderlands didnt make me laugh either but it was entertaining enough to not get dry.
