Bit of a lighthearted thread I'm sure will get extremely heated, but what are some arguments you hear from both sides of the aisle that should be mutually inclusive, yet are used for some issues yet against others from each sides' perspective?
Against both left and right-
Abortion should be illegal, but making guns illegal means anyone who wants one will still be able to get one
We should make at least certain types of guns illegal to get them off the streets, but you can't make abortions illegal as women will still have them just unsafely now
Drug laws also falls into this. To be logically sound, one would have to support either all illegal or none illegal if the "people will still do it" argument exists in their reasoning to support any them's legalities
Against left-
We need a living minimum wage, under $15 an hour is inhumane
We need illegal alien workers to provide cheap labor (Do you mean to create a servitude underclass?)
Girls can do anything a boy can do, and don't you let anyone tell you otherwise!
A girl showing masculine tendencies should consider taking puberty blockers so they don't get breasts and hips and can enjoy living as a boy since they like boy things
Against right-
We can't bring in refugees, what if one's a terrorist? If you had a bowl of skittles and one in there was poisoned, you wouldn't grab a handful would you?
There shouldn't be strict checks on who we can buy a gun in the US, vast majority of us are just fine law abiding citizens
Sharia law is a dire threat to the United States and coming if we don't stop it now!
District after district in the bible belt passes laws in accordance/benefiting the Christian faith...
Against both-
How debt increasing becomes an issue/non issue depending on which side is passing the budget. So frustrating
