And the population of that state is probably greater the country of Denmark. Also the culture is very different from Denmark. Also where in that state are the gun homicide the highest.

It’s not a wel documented historical fact, it’s actually very controversial. It even has it’s own wikipedia page:

where did you study German history? The NRA? <{MingNope}>

"Where did you study German history? The NRA?" Lol, I admit that I chuckled a bit.
Back to the main point, just to be clear. The article that you cited above has to deal with the debate of whether "The claim that gun regulations in Nazi Germany helped facilitate the rise of the Nazis." That is what the article that you referenced is about.

I personally think an armed populace helps keep the government in line. It is harder for a government to enforce mass tyranny with an armed populace. That is my opinion. You can disagree with this opinion, that is fine. And are correct that this is heavily debated.

What we can't disagree with is that Germany did take away guns from the German people and said it was due to hunting accidents. You can't disagree with this statement as it is a historical fact. What you can say, is that even though Germany took away the guns from the populace, it had nothing to do with the atrocities that were later committed as the German populace was not heavily armed anyways, would have happened regardless, etc.

There are numerous other examples of the government turning on it's own people. The question is whether or not an armed populace would help prevent such a thing. I guess it really comes down to if you trust the government. I don't. Not even a little. I don't trust the Republicans and certainly not the Democrats. The smaller the government is, the more I trust it.

Well those are fair points from a different ideology. Glad you could appreciate the joke <Lmaoo>

This is smoke and mirrors to keep the population distracted while the Liberals skim and feed from the trough. It came out today that Trudeau's delegation to the Queen's funeral racked up $400,000 just in hotel rooms. $6,000/night per room.

Same thing with abortion. Only gets brought up by the left to stimulate the citiots into hating conservatives. A party that's focus is on non-issues that are conjured up to polarize the country in order to stay in power is up to bad stuff.

That's funny. Other than watching your rights being taken away while you say 'please sir, take some more' we don't pay attention to your news at all.

Well you're paying attention to our news enough to be triggered over it. So there's that.

Just don't get mad and shoot somebody, I know that's kinda the American thing to do when you get all huffy puffy.

From USA today:

Can't protest. Can't not have the government freeze your money for disagreeing with the government. Can't buy guns. US Constitution looking pretty good to Canadian citizens, eh?

Let's see. What comes after disarming the population? I'm sure it's probably something good... historically speaking, I mean.
Next they'll make you start housing the homeless druggies in your living room

lmao u sound poor and dumb.
So legislation is all just a smoke screen for Canadian dignitaries to go to London for a once in 50 years commonwealth funeral and pay standard rates at a nice hotel to sit thru a bunch of stuffy ceremonial crap?

Anyways all guns accounted for in my house so idgaf

Good. High School shootings every week in USA, Canada doesn t need that shit.
Nobody needs handguns.

Sadly, the Canadian people want this. You tell Canadian people "The Americans do it that way... You don't want to be like the Americans, do you?" and they'll practically stampede to whatever alternative - good or bad, fair or not, solves the problem in question or not - is provided. I swear it's part of the political playbook... We have a shitty healthcare system compared to many other systems that use private healthcare to fill the gap sin the universal system, but any time a politician says "You know the Americans have private healthcare - and you don't want to be like Americans, do you?" the discussion immediately turns to "Party X is trying to bring in American style healthcare!" and our own suboptimal system remains intact. Hell, it is even applauded because "nobody loses their house for medical care like in the USA!" and the discussion never turns to "Maybe we should be trying to do what places like France and South Korea do?"

This handgun thing? Next to nobody who will speak passionately about this has the slightest clue whether the people with legal handguns were causing violence or not. They just think Americans have guns + Americans are bad = Canadians shouldn't have guns. Boom - you've got a political platform, with some sleazy politician lining up to capitalize on the Canadian voter's almost irrational hatred of anything that is American-like.
TBF, USA is the laughing stock of the industrialised world when it comes to public healthcare and gun laws.

You are an idiot.

White people make up by far the largest demographic when it comes to arrests in the US. Here is a link to a 2019 breakdown:
https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2019/crime-in-the-u.s.-2019/tables/table-43
A simple truth that is conveniently ignored by focusing on the murder rate. But in terms of crime, murder is only 1% of the crimes committed in the country.

This is one of those things where the media's obsession with showing black crime on the news creates and reinforces this false narrative that black Americans are committing the majority of the crime, when they're not.

Yeah, you got it bud. Cool.

they're the laughing stock when it comes to rifles technically.
So when will you be turning over your high capacity magazines to authorities?

The Emergencies Act Inquiry is currently on going and the recordings from the Mass Casualty Commission were also just released.

If not for that, I expect this would have been announced on December 6th to coincide with the Polytechnique Massacre anniversary.

This is a low hanging fruit, wedge issue, distraction.
