Pretty amazing how far MMA has come in a relatively short time. I hope ESPN does a good job with it. Only two sports I watch are MMA and Formula 1 which are both on ESPN now. I think they've done a good job with Formula 1 so im optimistic.

its been a long incredible journey for the ufc.

^This, and ESPN has contracts to air a lot of clownish "sporting events" like pro bowling, darts and poker.

The "mainstream" boundary was crossed the first time the UFC was mentioned on Sportscenter back in the mid-2000s.

I don't know why people are romanticizing this like MMA is still in the position that it was after the first season of TUF aired.
